Her career as a children's book illustrator was launched with Ten Little Rabbits (Chronicle), which won the International Reading Association award for Best Picture Book and garnered her a loyal and enthusiatic following. Her book, Hush, Little Baby (Chronicle), was a runaway success.
She lives in Arizona and enjoys spending time outdoors with nature and wildlife.

Great for beginner ELLs,

This book is useful for teaching English to school-aged beginner ELLs. It can be used with teaching strategies involving vocabulary sorting, pattern practice with the words and the sentence structures, cloze, and the verbs taught with TPR. Spanish speakers can also use it to learn by using contrastive analysis.
