More About the Author

Gordon Korman has written more than fifty middle-grade and teen novels. Favorites include the New York Times #1 bestseller The 39 Clues: One False Note, The Juvie Three, Son of the Mob, Born to Rock, and Schooled. Though he didn't play football in high school, Gordon's been a lifelong fan and season ticket holder. He says, "I've always been fascinated by the 'culture of collision' in football and wanted to explore it-not just from the highlight films but from its darker side as well." Gordon lives with his family on Long Island, New York.

5.0 out of 5 stars Korman in rare form, April 5, 1999
By A Customer
It's hard for me to think of a better lineup; watching the last episode of Babylon 5 and reading this book in the same day. (Not that they have anything at all to do with each other. Not remotely!)

As we learned in Who is Bugs Potter?, he is the best drummer on the planet. Unfortunately for him, he's still in school and thus subject to the whims of his parents. After failing science, he has big plans for the summer: attending hard rock concerts all over North America. But his father has other plans: roughing it deep in upper Ontario at Lake Naka-mee-chee. With the family friends, the Veddas, the Potters are dropped off at the lake with no electricity, no plumbing, and no people. But Bugs stowed his tape deck in the luggage . . .

Dr. Hyde and Dr. Ramsay from the Anthropological Museum of Ontario are also at the lake, looking for the discovery of the century. They decide the Veddas and Potters must go. But before long the beach is teeming with anthropologists from competing universities, and their greatest discovery is the Veddas' daughter Elizabeth. Then Bugs starts a rock band . . .

If you can find this book, buy it and read it. For some reason it was only published in Canada, and I had it requested on Interlibrary loan for over half a year before it finally came in. I now own a bootlegged copy--my younger sister typed it up for me, my older sister bound it, and my youngest sister got the author to sign it for me when he went to Power of the Pen in Columbus. Thus I have a prettier copy than you will ever have. Gordon Korman wrote: "To Peter-- A truly devoted Bugs Potter fan-- Hope my books provide a continuing chuckle as you "age!"

This is not necessarily the best book he's written, but being the hardest one to get adds to its value. In its laughs it does not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book By Gordon Korman, June 23, 2001
By A Customer
Bugs Potter strikes again, only this time he is on a family vacation on the remote Lake Naka-mee-chee (or "Nickaninny", as Bugs pronounces it). Somehow, Bugs winds up putting on a rock concert with a boy searching for his heritage, and a bored park ranger. Like all books by this author, a wild series of events and strange characters makes this book is a must-read for Gordon Korman fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious sequel to a lovable character, May 22, 2005
I loved this book soooooo much! I think the character Bugs is absolutely hilarious and Korman's writing style is amazing. If you loved the first Bugs book, you'll love this one too. I think that besides the lovable, hilarious characters, this book is an amazing parody of groan-inducing family vacations. I did think it was slightly creepy how all those guys were developing crushes on Elizabeth, who's like 16, but it didn't detract from the awesomeness of this book. My only main complaint is that I miss the characters from the first Bugs book (Adam, BiBi, Barney, etc). But this book is sooooo cool!
