This review is from: Build-A-Droid Wave 06 - Captain Needa (Toy)
Hasbro continue their new Legacy Collection for 2009 with wave two consisting of figures from The Empire Strikes Back. Continuing the success of last year's build-a-droid each one in this wave comes with a component to build the silver protocol droid U-3PO.
The next figure in the line is #40 Captain Lorth Needa. It's nice to see more of the Imperial Officers and figures from The Empire Strikes back have been a bit slim on the ground since the line restarted in 1995. This is also the first time Needa has been released in figure form. He has head (rotational and vertical), shoulder (rotational and abductional), elbow (rotational and vertical), wrist (rotational), torso (rotational), hips (vertical), knee (rotational and vertical) and ankle (rotational and vertical) articulation which gives him a great 23 ranges of movement. He comes equipped with a grey Imperial Officer's hat and a Black BlasTech E-11 blaster rifle. There is also the left leg of U-3PO as well, the remainder of which is with figures #38 - #39 and #41 - #43 in the current line. An excellent figure and a welcome addition to the Star Wars figure line.

I did a Star Trek costume a few Halloweens ago, a TOS redshirt. Since I'm a bigger fan of Star Wars than Star Trek, it made sense to do a SW costume. I was drawn to an Imperial Officer costume since they're the "redshirts" of the Star Wars universe.
I got this figure to use as sort-of an ID card, for when people ask what my costume is. I'm even considering keeping the figure in the left lapel pocket in place of a code cylinder (if you know what that means then the Force is strong with you). Needa didn't use a gun in the movie but the toy has an E-11, which gave me an excuse to run out and get a stormtrooper blaster. Woot! |
