4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids Who Don't Like Complicated Games
As the title of this review suggests, I bought this game for my little sister, who doesn't like complicated games. Even Super Mario Galaxy is too advanced for her, though I found the controls to be quite simple.

My children played this game and it took them all of two days to finish it. My oldest is 6 years old. I was dissapointed in it, and I was hoping for more, especially at a $40 price tag.

The story is that Bearemy and Paulette are having a party and you are invited. But first, you have to finish finding 4 puzzle pieces on each seasonal island. To win these puzzle pieces, you must play different games on the islands. There is a fall, winter, spring and summer island. The final island is the palace island and this is where the party is. You can not explore this island or play any games on this island. All you do is watch a dance party.
You can also win accessories for your animal, by digging up treasure boxes and opening them.
Honestly, the game is for very young kids. Anyone older can finish it pretty fast. Even my 6 year old finished it in 2 days. Plus, I think the music is too loud and you can hardly hear Bearemy talking to you when he gives you directions.
If you really want it, rent it at Blockbuster or wait till the price drops dramatically.

The animals you can make are on the game are as follows:
Read Teddy
Scruffy Puppy
Tan Swirl Bunny
Dimples Teddy
Magnificent Monkey
Velvet Bear
Sassy Kitty
Trekkin' Turtle.

As the title of this review suggests, I bought this game for my little sister, who doesn't like complicated games. Even Super Mario Galaxy is too advanced for her, though I found the controls to be quite simple.

She picked this up and really enjoyed it. As a Build-A-Bear fanatic, she was able to create her own bear, understand the instructions and blasted off. The game really does well in teaching the mini-games.

The only complaint I have (which came from my 7-year-old sister) is that it's too short. She finished it in a day (after the third time around).

But for someone who thinks that many of the Wii's current titles are too complicated for their child, this is a great buy.
Though my sister finished it quickly, she still enjoys playing it from time to time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good game for preschoolers, June 2, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Build-A-Bear Workshop: A Friend Fur All Seasons (Video Game)
This game is very short like all the reviews have already said, but the great part about this game is the mini games that your child can play. The mini games are so short like 3 minutes long but entertaining for a little kid. This game nor any of the other Build-A-Bear games are meant for older children. Some of the minigames are a pogostick race, tetherball, horse riding, etc. There is more than 10 mini games. To unlock all of the minigames you must complete the adventure game which really is just the character completing the mini games and finding puzzle pieces. During adventure mode the character finds/recieves medals which then can be used to bought accessories/clothes at the store.

Oh yeah! All of the directions are said aloud and written on the screen. They even show the kids how to do the moves for each of the games.

This game is best for kids age 3-5. Any older kids will probably be bored after the first hour.

First off this game has a weird audio glitch where the audio stops working, which actually makes it hard to play several of the games and may cause the game to get stuck. secondly the claim there are 20 plus games is false its the same five games with new graphics on each level ... not for a beginner game player as one would hope .. the game play is SOOOOO bad my daughter after one evening with this cried and "wanted her Diego game back" buy this game only if its a dollar or free

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Controls- Hard for Parents & Kids, December 30, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Build-A-Bear Workshop: A Friend Fur All Seasons (Video Game)
Very disappointed. We bought this for our 3 year old because we heard it was great for young kids (preschool level). Our daughter is now 4 and she still can't play it. Worse than that, we the parents have to play it for her and we are experienced gamers and WE find some of the games VERY difficult due to the poor controls. When the (experienced gamer) parents are waving their arms around to exhaustion and we still don't win the challenge (which must be repeated and won in order to move on and complete the level) then it is a bad game. Not much fun for the kids and definitely not fun for the parents who are forced to try to play it.

This game is so horrible that at first we thought there was a problem with our wii-motes! Got new wii-motes and realized- Nope- it's just the game!

Maybe this game would be good for 7 years olds who can play it by themselves without parental help, but as a gaming mama I think that the controls are very poor.

For young kids I would recommend the Dora and Diego Wii games instead. Much better controls.

MY DAUGHTER IS 6 YEARS OLD AND WHEN WE GOT THE GAME,SHE PLAYED IT THE ENTIRE DAY. I THINK IT IS PERFECT FOR YOUNG KIDS BECAUSE ONCE THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO,THEY CAN PLAY ON THEIR OWN.I WILL TELL YOU THIS,THE PALACE ISLAND IS WHERE THE PARTY IS,AND YOU CANNOT PLAY ANY GAMES,WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THIS WAS FOR MY KID.SHE THOUGHT THAT THERE WOULD BE REALLY FUN STUFF TO DO WHEN SHE FINALLY GOT THERE,THE GAME IS OVER AT THIS POINT.IF THE KIDS KNOW THIS BEFORE THEY PLAY THEY SHOULD'NT BE LET DOWN BY THE GAME AND REALLY ENJOY IT,WE DID.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but Frustrating, April 19, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Build-A-Bear Workshop: A Friend Fur All Seasons (Video Game)
A Friend fur All Seasons is an o.k. game, but I wouldn't spend too much money in purchasing it.

Pros: My 4/5 year old boy has enjoyed it, and after learning his way around the wii better, can play most of it himself now; Games are short, so that offers some variety; instructions are written, spoken, AND demonstrated; kids love choosing and dressing their character.

Cons: Audio glitches that make the audio stop after only the first 2 words; some of the games cannot be won very easily (and must win them in order to get the necessary puzzle-piece) even when I try in behalf of my son; kids can find it boring pretty quickly; getting to the palace (the overall goal) is lame because all you can do it walk around in a circle and look at some bears dancing - we want to actually go INTO the castle at least.

Overall, fun for kids and even adults like me, but not a must-have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game for pre-school age children, January 26, 2010

I purchased this game for my four year old and it was perfect for her. I wanted a game she could play on her own that didn't require the player to be able to read. This game was just right. My daughter liked it but did not love it. It is probably a game you would be better off renting rather than buying. My daughter has several of the other games designed for pre-schoolers that she likes better but this one is okay, there just isn't alot of action and is very slow paced, even for a pre-schooler game.

This is a great game for younger girls. My 7 year old and 4 year old love to play it. I have a hard time finding wii games that my girls can play on their own without needing my help every 2 minutes. This is a great one. Got on sale at Target.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Wii game for less-cooridinated kids., January 1, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Build-A-Bear Workshop: A Friend Fur All Seasons (Video Game)
My 6 1/2 year old daughter has my deficit when it comes to eye-hand-coordination. She really wants to play, but things like Wii games don't come easy. This game was perfect for her. It kept her attention, the goals were achievable, and what little girl passes up the chance to dress/design/accessorize and SHOP?! It would probably be boring and/or too easy for those kids more advanced on the Wii games, but for my daughter, it was perfect. She typically doesn't play for more than 20 minutes at a time, so the simplicity and "girly-ness" of it was perfect.
