5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING Book!
The other reviewer (who gave this book a "1") obviously forgot to read the title and description of this book. All his negative comments come from his failure to do so.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very old, save your money
This book may have been useful back in 1980 when it was last printed, but its totally useless in today's modern world. The author constructs a true "junk"yard still from trash using a garbage can, a toilet tank, and a car radiator. It may have seemed clever 30 years ago, but not at all sophisticated enough for today's modern ethanol burning cars, in fact it doesn't...

The other reviewer (who gave this book a "1") obviously forgot to read the title and description of this book. All his negative comments come from his failure to do so.

This is an outstanding book, clearly and simply written and profusely illustrated. If you read the book's title, you'll understand this is an instruction manual for creating an alcohol-producing still from parts you can find in any junkyard or Lowes. If you want super sophisticated instructions for brewing beer or wine, look elsewhere.

In short, if you need to create a still in an emergency situation (it's probably against the law where you live in normal times), this is a great reference. As the author points out, if you have no idea what you're doing and are a klutz with simple hand tools, it will take you a couple of hours to make this still. If you have basic competence with simple tools, you'll be distilling in about 20 minutes.

If you've read this far, this is a book you'll want.
