I really liked this book. It was VERY helpful for building a safe rabbit house. Any one that is getting a rabbit or already has one and wants to build a new house for it, I think this is the book for them.

The Storey guides are the best and informative publications I have bought. Having bought expensive books that said the same thing as the Build Rabbit Housing: Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin A-82
by Bob Bennett does I highly recommend this publication first and foremost. The information is easy to read, illustrations etc easy to follow. Save money as well by putting the money you would have put toward an expensive book on the subject, toward other rabbit needs.

Building wire hutches for rabbits isn't rocket science. This booklet (about 27 useful pages) gives you step by step instructions on how to build wire hutches, nest boxes and carrying boxes for rabbits.
The concern here is for mostly meat/fur rabbits and breeding of meat/fur rabbits. It includes information on watering, feeding devices and hay racks. What it leaves out is the type of shed you need to build or buy to house the hutches in. And you will need something to put the hutches in to keep them out of the weather. These are NOT hutches for the living room of your house, unless you want rabbit feces and urine all over you walls and floor. Information on sheds, from large to small is in "Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits: Breeds, Care, Facilities". You can get most of the advice and information you need from that book and from "Raising Rabbits the Modern Way" which contains a less step by step information on building cages. The two books and the booklet are all by Bob Bennett. If you only want information on building cages, then buy this booklet "Build Rabbit Housing" and save yourself a few dollars. I've found most books with the word "Modern" in it are usually older than I am, but not in this case. First published in 1975. (when one of the first personal computers came out: the MITS Altair 8800. Soldering iron not included. http://oldcomputers.net/altair.html). A long time ago, but both have been updated in the late eighties and I think the books have held up well and have a lot to teach us. A lot of people are horrified at the thought of someone eating cute fluffy bunnies. I eat meat. I feel as long as I am going to eat meat I'm going to try to limit my intake, and try to be sure that the animals I consume are raised and killed in the most humane methods possible. The best way to do that is to raise them myself. BTW, this booklet is available as a downloadable pdf elsewhere on the net for the same price as the printed here, but I'll leave it for you to locate.
