5.0 out of 5 stars Teachers and education libraries will find it a fine tool surveying different preschool program teaching methods and objectives, February 13, 2009
Susan R. Sandall and Ilene S. Schwartz's BUILDING BLOCKS FOR TEACHING PRESCHOOLERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, 2ND EDITION offers a lifeline for preschool teachers in a survey focusing on fully including children with disabilities in early childhood classrooms. The idea is to offer a framework helping educators meet federal requirements for early education, with a cd-rom holding all printable forms - worksheets, child evaluation forms and more - key to interacting with kids from diverse backgrounds. Teachers and education libraries will find it a fine tool surveying different preschool program teaching methods and objectives.

I have been teaching in an inclusion classroom for three years and wish I had this book from the start! It is very easy to read and follow. They give you step by step directions for problem solving issues that may arise in the classroom, lots of ideas for solutions to those issues, super useful forms that are practical and make sense! I am very pleased with this book and recommend it to any early childhood teacher that works with special needs students.

One of the few books I had to purchase for graduate school that was actually worth buying. Finished reading it before class even started and read it again at the start of the school (preschool)year. Great resource with usable information.
