We can still rebuild a broken world,
By
This review is from: Building in a Broken World (Paperback)
One of my earliest dates with my husband involved going with a friend to hear Brother Andrew speak in California. We were challenged, and when we were married, we considered going on a trip into the Soviet Union through Open Doors once we hit retirement age.Interestingly, the very areas that attracted us are now much more open to Christian influence, and such a visit is no longer necessary. The book which started our interest in his ministry God's Smuggler is still in print, but sadly this lesser known book is no longer available. It is based on Nehemiah, and focuses on the fact that all of us can be builders in a broken world. While there were many texts and studies and life lessons that formed who I am today, this particular book played at least a small part in my vision for a broken world. As a result, while we won't be going to the Soviet Union, my husband and I now serve small communities, with me as Pastor and him as constant companion and encouragement. Truly, we have a broken world where we can all serve, and we don't even need a passport to get there. |
