Building Community Capacity,
By Jeffrey Shelton (Chesapeake, VA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Building Community Capacity (Modern Applications of Social Work) (Paperback)
This is a clearly written, informative guide to understanding the concept of community capacity and how it is developed in diverse project settings across the nation. The conceptual model presented is straightforward and useful in helping the reader to interpret the case examples. Although the preface disavows the intent to provide a "recipe", the book would be somewhat more helpful to field practitioners if it included some guidelines for effective practices based upon the case studies viewed in terms of the model--particularly given the nascent state of knowledge in this field.
