Book Description

June 12, 1996
Passing today s contractor s exams can be a major task. This book shows you how to study, how questions are likely to be worded, and the kinds of choices usually given for answers. Includes sample questions from actual state, county, and city examinations, plus a sample exam to practice on.

This book isn t a substitute for the study material that your testing board recommends, but it will help prepare you for the types of questions and their correct answers that are likely to appear on the actual exam. Knowing how to answer these questions, as well as what to expect from the exam, can greatly increase your chances of passing -- the first time.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is a terrible study guide do not buy it !, August 27, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Building Contractor's Exam Preparation Guide (Paperback)
I took the California general contractors B exam in August of 2002 and failed the first time I took it using this book. The book does not even cover several important sections, such as Electrical, plumbing and handicap codes. For the other sections, less than 50% of the material they covered in the book was on the test.

If you are taking the exam in CA, do not use this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not, March 18, 2003

I concur with the reviewer who says it isn't a good preparatory book for taking the contractor license test in California. I took it in March, 2003, and the book was not only not useful, it wasted my time studying things that were not on the test. I do NOT recommend this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor review guide, February 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Building Contractor's Exam Preparation Guide (Paperback)
Maybe it helped others, but it didn't help me. Only one of the fifty questions from the practice exam was remotely similar to one of the one hundred questions on the real test.

Seemed helpful when I was reading it, but not like the actual exam at all.

Find something else; I am.
