7 Lessons from 7 Coaches,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Building an Extraordinary Business (Paperback)
The subtitle says: Successful Strategies for Growing Your Business from the World's Premier Business Coaches. That certainly sounds intriguing, and BUILDING AN EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS is a very good book, but my thought is, wouldn't seven of the world's premier business coaches be able to do a better job of marketing their book? As I write this review in 2008, this book has been on the market for 6 years now, and has no other reviews posted on Amazon. Is no one reading this fine book? Perhaps my review will help.
The book has seven chapters, one from each coach. There are a variety of topics covered such as making better utilization of referrals and tapping your inner coach. Some of it was great, some no so much. One chapter (my least favorite) is on using your inner tools. You know, law of attraction, affirmations, that sort of new age thinking. Another chapter by Sara Ellis introduced me to a concept I had not heard before about becoming a "being" based business. This was very interesting. My favorite chapter was by a gifted writer named Yvonne McCoy who introduced her S.T.E.P.S. plan. Stop, Think, Evaluate, Proceed, Succeed. The final chapter might be of particular interest to parents trying to run a home-based business and raise children at the same time. It is aptly titled, The Practice of Parentrepreneurs. Overall, this was a good read, very quick. I like the variety you get from the different contributors. I still don't know why this book never took off. Maybe the coaches need a good coach (me) to help them with their book promotions. |
