Better Than Prozac!,
By Melissa (Oregon, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
I have read many books in the metaphysical and New Thought genres, but none of them ever stated things as simply as Mary does. Her words have cleared the confusion and fog from my mind, and I am finally able to understand my place in the universe! Her way of telling stories and parables, much like Jesus did, really helped to put things in perspective. I was able to relate to almost every character, and now I am working on matching their triumphs. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mary in person recently! She is truly a saint! I know my life will change for the better now that I have started to till the soil in my own "Field of Dreams". At the very least, the book has given me hope!

Good as far as it goes, but ...,

Morrissey's personal story is inspiring, and many of her suggestions about how to make your dreams reality are excellent. But I found the book disappointing in one important respect: it assumes that you already have a firm grasp of what your dream is, and just need encouragement and guidance on how to make it come true. Some of us aren't clear WHAT our dream is, for reasons ranging from outright brainwashing by the parents and teachers we were trying to please ("you WANT to be a schoolteacher when you grow up, don't you?") to "never gave it much thought," and this book is no help whatseover if that's your predicament. I recommend instead Barbara Sher's "I Could Do Anything If Only I Knew What It Was," or Martha Beck's "Finding Your Own North Star," both of which will help you take that necessary first step towards identifying your dream.

A lot of hope lives within these pages.,
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
Mary Manin Morrissey is tremendously gifted, and this is evident from chapter one throughout the book. Somehow she reaches into the souls of those who have lost their way, had their faith shaken, or given up hope. I would recommend this book to any lonely or forlorn individuals looking for a light at the end of the tunnel. Mary Manin Morrissey can show you the way to that light, and she can also, with her magical words, help you through what may seem like an endless struggle to reach your own field of dreams.

This book made a difference in my life.,
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
I am reading this book for the third time, and each time a new insight speaks to me. Following the principles set forth in the book, I have changed my life entirely. I am now living on the French Riviera, something I never knew I could do. Because of things I learned from this book, I am realizing even more dreams. Thank you Mary Morrissey!

The Five most important questions,
By A Customer
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
Mary was able to ask five simple, but profound questions about any dream (or plan) to determine if it is was the right one. For those questions alone, this book is well worth the price. It starts out a little slow, but by the end it becomes a vital tool for living life. The guy who hated the book is so wrong. It's all about internal happiness.

After listening to Mary Morrissey in person, I just had to buy her book. She is so natural, down-to-earth and real. This book was everything I wanted to be. I keep it on my desk and dip into it to find bits to read to clients and friends needing inspiration in challenging times.
Mary has a knack of weaving a real-life story (her own) with metaphors and teachings in such a way that keeps you from putting the book down till it's finished! This book answered a question that I had been pondering for some time. Knowing about the laws of attraction, I was looking for an explanation for those who had landed in circumstances that were less than ideal. Personally, I feel that we don't attract absolutely everything, sometimes we are sent challenges for reasons we aren't aware. Mary has a wonderful way of dealing with tender issues with kid gloves on a firm hand. From her book: "What about when injustice takes on a more heinous form? People who were abused as children in no way consciously chose that experience. Yet if they heal, their compassion and their motivation to reach out to others help their souls to grow. They possess an empathy that those who have not suffered simply find it impossible to imagine.... Yet the co-creative model - "Life is not happening to me, life is proceeding from me"- allows you to make sense of the senseless. You cannot undo what has already been done. But you can become bigger than the tragedy that befell you by accessing unlimited power from God. The victim who clings to the victim role expects lifelong mistreatment. Creators free themselves for a life of abundance, confident they will receive what they deserve, which is God's greatest good."

Dreamers who show you the way to your own dream,
By
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
Mary Morrissey is a very rare find for our time. After delving into her materials and books, I've concluded that she is still an undiscovered "gem." There are not enough people in the world hearing what this woman has to say.
Mary Morrissey is a very wise and empathetic woman who's learned how to build realities out of what were once hopes and dreams in her mind. In Building Your Field of Dreams she cites example after example of similar dream builders - those people who started with nothing or were often completely down-and-out . . . but they never allowed themselves to lose site of their dreams. She then offers practical, consciousness-raising advice and how-tos to help each of US get our dreams rolling into reality. Whenever I begin to wonder or just feel a little worn out in my endeavors to reach my own dreams, I dig out Mary's Building Your Field of Dreams. In minutes, I'm re-energized and back on track. (And, yes! The dreams are being achieved.)

A woman who is in touch with the Divine,
By A Customer
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
I totally disagree with the last review. I found this book to teach one how to look inward, and connect with their own power, not outward. Then, with that new found connection, work toward their life purpose. Mary is a true teacher and speaks her truth well. I recommend anyone to read this who is on a life purpose search, a worthy investment if there ever was one.

I love this book!,
This review is from: Building Your Field of Dreams (Paperback)
Building Your Field of Dreams is a wonderful message shared in a very personal way making it very easy to apply to oneself -- always making it seem very possible. While these are very simple words, the impact is very strong.

We are using this book as part of a class to learn about finding our hearts desires and making them coming true. This book speaks to this and uses the analogy of a garden to talk about what we reap and sow and plan as intentions.
