Have you always wanted one of those 'Glass Super Ships.... but have never been able to justify the $900 to $2000 price tag? Or, have you been convinced that you could build a better design.... with better performance... but thought that you needed a CNC machine shop full of equipment to do it? Well, here is a video that will convince you otherwise. Fred McClung is a retired engineer from Hughes Aircraft.....who developed a complete system for building a hollow composite molded sailplane... in the tiniest workshop I've ever seen. Using only common modeling tools and a vacuum pump, Fred builds plugs, molds, and finished aircraft. In about a year and a half, Fred has built over 50 finished Fred-a-Planes (his own F3B sailplane design) While the video shows the construction of a sailplane, this technique will work just as well for building a power plane... a Quickee 500 racer... a pattern plane, or even a scale project.

If you are looking for a resource for building real, functional airframes, this is not it.

The title of the Amazon listing oversells what this is about.
"Building Hollow Aircraft Structures"? No, not really.
Is it an "aircraft" well, as much as a Soapbox Derby car is a monocoque sports car...

Essentially, the video shows how to build a monocoque scale model sail plane.
Production quality of the video is pretty poor.

The methods he uses are not what I would call transferable to doing high-end work.

If you are looking for a really basic intro in how to do composites as a hobbiest, it might be of value. If you are experienced in composites and looking for how to step up your game on airframe or stressed part design, this ain't it.
