This book describes how to use game-theoretical ideas to "construct" models of (i.e. mathematical structures satisfying) a consistent set of axioms. The language of first-order logic is emphasized throughout. Personally, I think the subject itself is fascinating, and that the writing does full justice to the beauty of the ideas. All in all, this is a book that every mathematical logician should at least browse through. The prerequisites are modest: some naive set theory, some elementary logic and some willingness to use your brain... |
