5.0 out of 5 stars Great song! And listen to the album of gems!
An excellent first single which precedes even better gems off her Surfacing album. Nothing comes close to listening to Sarah with her unpretentious renditions and heartfelt lyrics. FAVORITE: The haunting and simple ballad I Love You, just sums up how we feel towards the ones we love sometimes. Can't wait for her new album!!! And check out her artistic talents manifest...

4.0 out of 5 stars Four hits from Sarah but not one of her typical CD-Singles, October 12, 2001
This review is from: Building A Mystery (Audio CD)
Over the years we have become accustomed to Sarah McLachlan's CD-Singles giving us one of her hits, some sort of alternative version of that hit and a third song, which was usually a cover of something by Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel, etc. In that regard, "Building a Mystery" is less than what we have come to expect. We get the title song, from "Surfacing," along with "I Will Remember You" from "The Brothers McMullen" soundtrack album, and "Possession" from "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy." For me, and I assume for most other devoted fans, the only "new" track on this CD-Single is the soft drum mix of "Angel." Ironically, given the rest of the content of this CD, this is not a substantially different version. So while these are great songs from a great singer-songwriter, they do not represent anything substantially new to our McLachlan music collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exelent and down to earth, April 16, 1999

Hi,

For Sarah McLachlan's album Surfacing I belive that she realy took the time to realize that her dark side, as she describs it, realy come's out. I think that this is her best album out yet and I also belive that all the songs she wrote were just great. What I like about Sarah is that she's not afraid to write about the real issues that concern most people and to not be worried about what other people will think of it. From her previous efforts this one is the best and she is still groing so her 15 minutes of fame isn't over so watch out for her in the future she will be a huge singner, but hey that's my prediction! Best songs on this album, Building A Mystery, Adia, Sweet Surrender and Angel. As you can see I give this great album a 5 ***** review. Hope you will tell me what you think!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Song!, February 13, 1999

This song is wonderfully written and beautifully performed. As the first release from her Surfacing album, I think Ms. McLachlan created a wonderful entry into the music scene.

Sarah Mclachlan is my favorite female artist of all times. Her voice is so beautiful and unique. When she sings, her voice touches my soul. I Wish she would come to the Reno, Nevada or So. Lake Tahoe area for a concert.
