PT Boats in World War2,
This review is from: Building the PT Boats: An Illustrated History of U.S. Navy Torpedo Boat Construction in World War II (Paperback)
PT Boats were one of the true success stories of WW2. Anyone who loves or wishes to learn about these gallant little boats MUST read this book. The story of "Building the PT Boats" is told with many great original photos and easy to understand text. Three cheers for the PT Boats and those who keep the memory of them alive. Frank J. Andruss, Sr. is a true PT Boat historian and enthusiast. His knowledge and expertise on this subject made this book possible. Well done Frank!

Hello,
I am involved in the restoration of PT Boat 658 in Portland Oregon and have been involved with PT Boats for 15 years now. I am a member of the Save the PT Boat Inc Board of Directors, and have been interested in them all of my life. I showed Franks book to the entire PT Boat group, which consists of 10-15 WW2 PT veterans and everyone was amazed at the rare content of this book as well as the authoritative descriptions and presentation as a whole. Frank has a wealth of great photos in the book that you simply cannot find anywhere else and I feel truly fortunate that he was able to share them with us. Anybody who has even a passing interest in PT Boats, from history buffs to modelers, will be unable to put this book down. It will also increase in value as you keep referring back to it for one more look at these rare photos. I would rate this book very high in any collection of books on this subject. Jerry

With this excellent volume, Mr. Andruss has added a valuable chapter to the history of the famous PT boats of World War II. His concise, informative narrative and thorough pictorial record serve to enhance an important phase in these boats' developmental process. A must read for any student of the subject.

This is a must read PT boat book. It nicely filled the void of the subject. The author wisely picked the pictorial approach to illustrate the complicated construction process that no lengthy text can adequately
describe. Since the pictures were originally from 8 X 10 glossy factory prints, they are something to behold. Victor Chun (Author of AMERICAN PT BOATS IN WW II)

This amazing book has definately achieved its goal. The main aspect of this book is it's original photos, which I found to be of great interest and rich in detail. Kudos to the author, and I am very proud to have this book on my shelf.

This is a must have book for any fan of PT Boats. It is a terrific pictorial guide with great narrative about how PT Boats were built. The book covers primarily Elco, but also includes Higgins and Huckins boats. In addition to construction the books gives us a glimpse of every day life at these factories which would otherwise be lost to time without the authors efforts. I highly recommend this book.

This is an excellent book on how PT Boats were built. The pictures are great and very informative. Having spent 13 months aboard a Higgins PT Boat during WW11 I know first hand many items that Mr. Andruss portrays in this book. He is one of the foremost authorties on WW 11 PT Boats today. I highly recommend Mr. Andruss' book.
