This review is from: Building Stone Decay: From Diagnosis to Conservation - Special Publication no 271 (Geological Society Special Publication) (Hardcover)
This is a wonderfully practical book for scientists specializing in the conservation of our cultural heritage and analysis of building materials. It contains a wide range of current topics, including the latest ideas on decay, condition assessment, and treatments. Papers in this collection present new test methods that simulate weathering, new tools for evaluating performance, and valuable suggestions for presenting field and laboratory data. The book is nicely edited, well illustrated, and quite readable. I would highly recommend it to architects, preservationists, conservationists, materials scientists, and petrographers who work with dimension stone.
