Book Description

September 2005 Socrates Answers
If you are an entrepreneur with a plan, you are a person to be respected! You are ready to answer that age-old question, "Are you ready to be an entrepreneur?" with a resounding "yes". You are prepared with the most important, fundamental tool for your personal and business success: a sound, convincing and practical business plan.

We all dream one day to be our own boss, to enjoy the benefits of business ownership, to garner the respect and admiration of our friends and colleagues as someone who "has made it." The key step from moving out of a faceless cube to striking a pose of independence and self-worth is a solid business concept, articulated through a business plan where no stone is left unturned.

See yourself with a promising business idea? Now it is time to take the first step to put that plan into action – that means crafting a business plan so convincing and so complete that it will attract the immediate attention of investors and key employees.

* Like all Socrates titles, the open layout and two-color interior is designed to make this an easy, readable book-practical and useful. * A CD-ROM is included containing a sample business plan (in Word), forms, documents, interviews, checklists, self-appraisals and other learning aids. * The combination of a book, CD and web landing page is a means to keep information current; readers get more than just a book.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Must Have" Book for Writing a Business Plan, November 11, 2008
This review is from: Building a Successful Business Plan: Advice from the Experts with CDROM (Socrates Answers) (Paperback)
The authors of "Building a Successful Business Plan" have come up with a terrific step-by-step, comprehensive guide to writing a business plan. As a former controller and chief financial officer in the electronics industry, I have written many such plans.

This book makes it easy for entrepreneurs to put their ideas and aspirations into an organized, practical format that will help potential investors make informed decisions about the venture. For existing businesses, this book will act as a guide to developing strategies for new opportunities.

All of the basics are covered - the executive summary, building the team, exit strategies, and even buying a franchise. There is a CD in the back of the book that has excellent forms and checklists.

If you are thinking about writing a business plan, then you must read Building a Successful Business Plan.
