I ordered this book for my 7-year-old who was doing very well on standardized tests, but overall did not employ creative thinking skills. This book has taught her to break down problems to find step-by-step solutions and taught her to verbalize what she could already think through but had difficulty putting into words. Best of all, she loves to complete the exercises; she sees the book as a tool that makes learning fun. This book is an excellent tool, I highly recommend it.

Between tv, video games and mind numbing worksheets that kids get at school, it seems like there is not much out there that actually teaches children how to think. This book is a wonderful tool to help kids practice this absolutely necessary skill. My son has lots of fun with it and is actually using his brain! I am very impressed with this book and recommend it to all parents, whether or not they are preparing their kids for some sort of academic testing!

If your child likes to do workbooks (my four year old can't get enough of them) your child will like this book. I know that the grade level is 2nd or 3rd grade, but it does such a good job of breaking down and explaining concepts that much younger children can benefit from this book too.

A good book to make your child think and make connections. My son thinks of it as a "fun way to learn" and he's always eager to start doing "homeworks".

Bought this for my 2nd grader and he enjoys the exercises. I find the material well organized and challenging enough for my kid at 2nd grade.

My daughter is in 2nd Grade and this book is her level. The only thing that could make this book more successful is to add some color pages into it. The whole book are black and white prints which is a little boring to little ones.

I brought it for my first grade kid. He started working through it all his school days and during summer he finished working the entire book. He was so much interested; I brought him the next book. Will definitely recommend this to keep kids busy with work @ home which will keep them thinking while still being fun to do :-)

This looks like a good starter book for my recently graduated second-grader as he goes through his just commenced summer vacation. It will enable him to be busy and hone his skills in mathematics. Math skills require sustained practice and this book appears to be a good beginning.
