Comment: Rough Copy; This is for the reader who values content over aesthetics. Like a well worn baseball glove, it will serve you well, but don't try to give this as a gift. Dust jacket removed for readers enjoyment. Don't let a creepin' dust jacket take away another moment of precious reading time.

Let me start of by saying that this review will be slightly rant orientated, So a wordy review it shall be.

Reading the description of this book I sure thought i was going to be in for a world for wonders, however that was a colossal mistake. The description of this book states that there are a ton of hidden gems and so called "secrets" to learn. And I must concede that I did pick up a few tips (perhaps 5), but I barely learnt anything. The book was a huge disappointment, there are similar books for around the same price that pack allot more punch. (i.e. FT Guide to Business Networking)

I found myself wanting to pull my hair out my head as I kept reading each page hoping to learn something truly thought provoking. This was my first book on the art of networking, so the fact that i didn't learn much is saying allot about this. Not only is this book extremely common sense, but the material is highly repetitive. if I had £500 for everything i herd "Be confident, people like confidence" I would be on the Forbes 400 yesterday. The book features about 25+ authors or so. A few of them have something that intrigued me such as Dr ivan, he and a few others are why this book managed to get a 2 but the rest of them just weren't up to the job. I would say that this book is definitely designed in the fashion of quantity over quality, I would have preferred it if Dr Ivan wrote the entire book himself.

I do feel like i have been ripped off, in my humble opinion this book was not worth the price i paid for it. The content is child's-play and I could find the principles on-line with a few Google searches. But on the plus side, the book is written in an extremely simple to understand style.

This book has so many different suggestions that I needed to have a notebook nearby to capture the ideas. I wrote one of the chapters, so buying the book was a no brainer, but now that I've read the other chapters, I'm sooooo glad I was involved. Great stuff!
