5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for
I've been on a LONG search for the perfect camera bag and have finally found it. I have a Nikon D40 that I carry with me almost every day. This bag fits my camera and an extra lens perfectly. 1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap bag and a costly mistake
Nice bag - Only had it about 3 months and ample room for everything I have. Only drawback? The stitching on the side let loose. NOT happy with that at all. $$$ lens hit the sidewalk. Will not be putting anything of any value into any other builtNY bag again. I'll stick to using them for lunch bags.

This review is from: Built Cargo Medium Camera Bag (Black Raspberry) (Electronics)
I've been on a LONG search for the perfect camera bag and have finally found it. I have a Nikon D40 that I carry with me almost every day. This bag fits my camera and an extra lens perfectly. Better yet, I put the camera in with whatever lens I am using and use the extra space as a purse, thus eliminating another bag. I actually bought a zing case for my camera/lens a while ago and I leave that on my camera inside this bag for extra cushioning. There are two downsides to this bag - the lack of cushioning and the pre-formed divider that gives you up to 4 slots. While the divider is handy, it is in one piece, thus slightly limiting your options. That is not a deal-breaker by any means, just a big of a surprise.

I originally ordered the large size and found that to be too big for my original intent, which was every day usage. I ordered the medium, which is perfect. I am keeping both, however, as the large will be fabulous for travel. I can fit my camera, all accessories, extra lens, my wallet, glasses, etc. AND my Kindle, so it's ideal for travelling - all my essentials in one place! A quest that started out looking for the perfect every day bag ended up with two perfect bags. I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a non-traditional camera bag, August 5, 2010

This review is from: Built Cargo Medium Camera Bag (Black Raspberry) (Electronics)
I recently bought my first digital SLR camera, and I spent an equal amount of time agonizing over the perfect bag for it. I have a Built NY lunch bag, which I love, and I was so excited to find that they make a couple camera bags.

I wanted something reasonably priced, stylish but simple, versatile, and roomy enough for my new camera, 1-2 extra lenses, wallet, sunglasses, and phone (to avoid carrying a camera bag and a purse). I also didn't want something that screamed "camera bag." I'll be traveling a lot with this camera, but also just running around town with it. I wanted a bag that could do both. This one fit the bill.

The removable insert is easy to adjust to your needs. The material is sturdy. I love the streamlined look of the bag. It looks like a small messenger bag, and is easy to wear. The black raspberry color is unique, but subtle enough to work with pretty much anything.

[...] shipped my order quickly. I even received it long before the expected arrival date. The bag is perfect for my needs. Great to find a bag like this at such a good price-point!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Camera Bag Yet, January 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a photographer and an information architect. I'd been using my BUILT laptop bag for about a year and was so excited to see camera bag options. I love the products from this company and was not disappointed when I received the camera bag. It's the best one I've had yet and I've been photographing seriously for about 8 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect day bag, September 11, 2010

perfect bag for around town, holds my D40 camera body, sb-400, 18-55, 50-200 and 50mm lens with room for quick cash, cards and phone. All I need for a daily excursion, and the blackberry color doesn't scream>> HEY! HERE'S MY CAMERA! STEAL ME!

Another good thing about this bag is while the sides and interior are neoprene like all the 'built' stuff, there is a slight firmness between the layers and extra padding on the bottom of the bag.

Oh and the strap is plenty long enough for across the body or shorten it for just shoulder wear.

This bag says medium, but I was shocked at its actual size, I can only imagine how big the Large is.

I have a Nikon D80 - this is great for travel. I like the easy access and look, not like a camera bag. I was not sure about the size, but it ideal for my rather large dslr and zoom lens. It fits everything I need for the day.

Cool bag- I really do not like the traditional style bags. I wish it had more permanent compartments inside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera bag, but picture does not match the item, September 28, 2011

I was so worried before I ordered this, that I would recieve and electric blue camera bag. Thankfully, what I received was really navy blue. I wasn't sure if I needed the large or the medium sized bag. Thank goodness I went with the medium, it is the perfect size. It fits my Nikon D5100, two lenses, the external flash, with room to spare! The interior is orange with these separators that have velcro on them so that you can arrange it to whatever setup you need. This is definitely a cool bag. Way more attractive than the ones that nikon sells. I love everything that Built makes and this is no exception!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, August 6, 2011

There is much more room inside than I thought, yet it doesn't look too big (I'm 5'6", female, ave weight). I could easily fit 2 Nikon D7000's inside with room to spare. The equipment that I would put in comfortably would include my D7000 with up to a 18-200 lens attached (not sure longer would fit), and an extra lens (2 if they aren't too big), and a speed flash (SB700, etc). There are 2 large and 2 small pocket slips that run down the interior sides of the bag. These would fit my keys plus other misc items; batteries, cash, remote, lens-pen, etc.

It's also better padded than I thought it would be. It's firm but flexible which allows it to hold more. It's not super padded (for travel) but perfect for everyday. The strap is great, doesn't slid off and has the same nice padding. The divider is a bit flimsy but does the job well enough. It's very lightweight which is a nice quality. It's comfortable to walk around with.

Colors - the colors represented on Amazon are off. The blue is a truer navy blue than the royal blue here. The interior is orange - U-haul truck rental orange, not my favorite color and why I have it a 3 stars for style. I'd much prefer a lighter blue or even a lime green. It does make it easy to find stuff though.

I think this bag would sell more with a variety of exterior patterns like you see on the lunch bags.

Somehow I managed to only pay $28 on Amazon for the blue bag. The price went up as soon as I purchased it so keep a look out for prices changes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but average camera bag, May 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Built Cargo Medium Camera Bag (Black Raspberry) (Electronics)
After reading all the raving reviews for this bag, I decided to buy it for my Canon D60.
I tried adjusting the insert so my camera can sit face down (with lens toward the bottom of the bag), but then I wasn't able to zip the purse up.
I could just put the camera at the bottom of the bag, but the padding seemed minimal & I'm just not comfortable storing my camera in that fashion.
Love the color & look, but am returning it because of the fit.
