Pretty good but a little pricey,

This review is from: Built Laptop Portfolio Case - Black (Personal Computers)
This fits a Dell 620 Notebook with extended battery, a file folder, and composition sized notebook. I use this to tote my notebook to work and home plus a few papers. It seems to do pretty well except for the slight smell, slick fabric that causes the case to slide when you set it down, and the single zip instead of more convenient double zip. The size is about right for the Dell 620 but a little too large for my Apple macbook. The case is cushy enough but not as shock absorbent as the Zero Shock neoprene cases. However, the Built NY Laptop case comes with handles, a strap and a small pocket that can hold file folders. I find using the handle more convenient and secure than hugging a notebook to my chest, which is the situation you're in if you purchase a handle-less notebook sleeve. Just try running across a campus, juggling the laptop, a small stack of papers, and most likely a hot caffeinated beverage without dropping something. That's two hands full and you won't easily be able to open the door. Get a case with handles/strap. The strap also detaches, is adjustable, and has a cushioned shoulder section (but yet again no anti-slip grip coating). If Built NY would add a slightly tacky coating to the bottom (or even just dots of it along the corners) so the case can lean against a desk leg without sliding to the ground, and with a double bi-directional zipper often found on sporting jackets/luggage, it would be a solid 5 stars.

Avoid this bag if you want your computer protected,
This review is from: Built Laptop Portfolio Case - Black (Personal Computers)
We had this bag less than a month before the cheap plastic strap connector broke and sent my brand new macbook pro onto the ground. In addition to having a fairly expensive (now junk) bag, my new computer was dented in the corner voiding the warranty. This bag is horrible and overpriced too!

This review is from: Built Laptop Portfolio Case - Black (Personal Computers)
I rarely use that word but this bag was perfect. I wanted to bring my laptop with me on vacation but refused to bring my briefcase. I only wanted it for emergencies, and to download photos from my camera. This case was small, easy to carry, protective for the laptop, and with enough storage space for just the right peripherals AND my beach novel. The fact that it has handles as well as a shoulder strap is a big plus, and I could lean it against the desk without it sliding down to the floor. It looks good as well. This is well worth the premium over other sleeves.
