I was so attracted to the packaging on the mini-Red Bulls (the Red Bull Energy Shot) that I had to try them. I've been a sucker for the energy drink craze and vacillate between several different types. But I always come back to Red Bull,

The packaging is ultra cute and comes with a screw on cap (not a snap top). So, you could actually drink it in sips (although you really are not supposed to). It tastes very similar to the classic Red Bull but is definitely more syrupy in consistency. It uses Sucrose and Fructose to sweeten and to me ALMOST smacks of sugar-free, but it is not.

The Red Bull Shot definitely gives a lift and quick boost. I found though that the energy did not last as long as a regular can of Red Bull. I used to use Red Bull as a part of a daily regimen for fatigue related to Multiple Sclerosis. I always knew that in the workplace Red Bull gave me a few productive hours.

I did not notice any huge crash with this little Shot and it helped me to gain a little boost. The label says that it has about the same amount of caffeine as a "premium" cup of coffee. I suppose they mean the hyper-charged Starbucks.

There is no doubt about it, the packaging is amazing and the price is about what you could expect for the brand. I gave it 4 stars because the taste was just slightly off to me. Truthfully, if given the choice (even though many more calories) I would rather sip on a real Red Bull than guzzle a shot down ... but for convenience, you cannot beat it.

I've been something of a Red Bull addict for a decade now, drinking it not for its energy effects (as my body has built up quite a caffeine tolerance) as its interesting flavour, nice and quite different to any other beverage I've tried. Seeing this fairly new Red Bull Energy Shot product as an impulse buying item in my supermarket checkout, I thought I'd give it a try. It's awful.

What you are getting here is not the same as Red Bull in an aluminium can, except with more caffeine per volume. Rather, it's uncarbonated and significantly thicker. The only comparison I could draw is cough syrup. And if you're much of an energy drink fan, you're probably too used to caffeine to get the rush of energy that the product promises.

Consequently, even if you love Red Bull in the can, I'd really suggest trying a single one of these shots from the shop before ordering a bulk shipment here.
