I just saw this band as part of the Crooked Road Tour which, by the way was phenomenal. Every musician and singer was outstanding. The Whitetop Mountain Band was my favorite of the evening and this CD really projects how they sound. The current band has two different members but the core is the Spenser family who make the music happen. This CD projects the difference between bluegrass and the old time mountain music played by the earlier string bands. It's vibrant,earthy, and most importantly, fun. You can't go wrong with this CD.
