What a wonderful and beautifully put together book! I know the author is very knowledgable, but this was even more then I expected.
The organization seemed to flow very well and the pictures were beautiful. This is a must have for all Bull Terrier owners, perspective owners and dog lovers.
Thank you Mrs. Alexander for all of your hard work to give us this great book!

A MUST read for anyone considering this breed. A wonderful and very informative book. Very helpful to me in understanding many behaviors of this particular breed, although too much emphasis on AKC opinions, functions etc. Not everyone is interested in the almighty AKC opinions and standards for showing. Sometimes a pet is just that, a beloved pet, not a show dog!

my husband and I had been thinking of getting a Bull Terrier. From the beginning of this book, we kept learning more and more about this wonderful, spunky breed. Well detailed information to include pictures of the different colors of breed, health issues, needs, wants, even showed a picture of the best toy for this dog: a kong. Recommend for anyone who is interested in this breed whether they're buying one soon or just want more knowledge on this "clown dog" :)

I purchased this thinking that it would have a lot more helpful info about the actual dog. The book mostly contains a lot of history on the breed and how it developed, and there was a lot of emphasis on AKC standards. I got a little tired of seeing AKC this, and "when you show your dog" that... Not every purebred dog owner cares about showing their dog or how close it is to breed standard. Some of us just love our pups, imperfect or not! And for them caring about breed standards, they sure picked a lot of bullies with "imperfect" markings for the photos. I've never seen such odd marks on bullies before. You'd think they would have picked some better ones for the photos.

For the price, this book gives a fair amount of info on the breed and some great pictures, good beginning book when first learning on the breed, definately recomend.

The pictures capture the goofy and endearing traits of the breed perfectly. The text is well written and interesting. My family and guests have all commented on what a fun coffee table book this would make if only I can get my bully puppy to stop eating my books ;)

Delivered quickly and a solid read, a large focus on the history of the bull terrier and limited training info. Valuable and a must buy for a prospective owner or just interested in the breed.

This is a great book- but, then again, they are great dogs, so anything written about them, as long as it is accurate, will make for good reading. It is especially good for anyone who is not familiar with the breed, esp. if they are considering adding one to their family. Be forewarned- they are NOT for the faint of heart (or anything else, for that matter)!

What a great book. Carolyn Alaxander really knows what she is talking about. Thanks to this book and Carolyn, I have the best Bull Terrier in the world.
