I have had 2 of these alarms installed to two different vehicles during the last 5 years or so. One was returned for a full replacement within the first year...replacement is still in use. The other started to drain the battery on the vehicle it was installed in after maybe 4-5 years...so I've just bought a new replacement.
I find these alarms easy to install...but I hardwire them to the battery...and do not use the clip. There is not usually a lot of room under the hood of most vehicles...and the small size of this alarm is a big advantage. 2 wires to connect...one to the battery...one to ground...stretch out the antenna. I try to mount them pointing down in an area free of high heat or water spray. I've found that the range stated for the transmitter is probably more like 100'. The remotes are very rugged..if it gets wet...just dry it out...and the battery lasts a long time...have had no issues with the buttons. At times this alarm can be affected by large temperature changes(or by sheet metal triggering the shock sensor?)...and might be occasionally affected by other remotes or devices made to disrupt alarms. The sensitivity can be set to where you want it...otherwise even rain can set one off. The current sensor works pretty well...but you need to be sure your dome light works. It will inform you as to whether it was set off by shock or current. You can set up 2 different alarms in 2 vehicles to respond to the same remote. The newest version has a different siren sound...and it seems to be louder. Also it will reset itself if triggered. As far as transmitter range and other behavior...can't say yet. IMO....for the DIYer...this is a relatively easy alarm to install and use.

It's the simplest Alarm I have ever seen. Install Red Clip to Positive of Battery and Black wire to one of the Screws provided to mount Base of Alarm to Vehicle and that's it. The Alarm is louder than I thought it would be, no problem hearing it from a great distance. Great Alarm for the Money!!!!

After someone cost me over $500. in tire repairs by repeatedly puncturing my tires I had enough...
I bought this Bull Dog alarm and left it in it's most sensitive settings and problem solved. It would've gave it 5 stars if only the alarm was louder.

Great little product from an American Company. Easy to install, and took a few days of trial and error to get the sensitivity set right, but got it to respond exactly the way I wanted it to. I don't have an expensive car - 13 year old Honda CRV in pretty good shape - but when some nuts decided to cut out my catalytic converter it came time to upgrade from The Club to a little bit more security. This Bulldog alarm did the trick.
One year later and it still works great.

I had this unit on my previous bike and it worked for about a year. Also the sensitivity adjust didn't really seem to work.

Didn't work, only got a partial refund,

This was supposed to be an easy to install alarm. You are supposed to just connect the red clamp to the battery and attach to your car using 3 screws. When it is successfully installed it is supposed to make 3 beeps to let you know.I installed it properly, heard the beeps, but the alarm didn't work and none of the suggestions on the installation sheet worked. Because I had waited too long to install it, I only received a partial refund from Amazon.com, and I had to pay for shipping to Amazon's Kentucky returns center.

I ordered this item and thought it would be an alternative to an expensive alarm. Well, don't waste your money. "If an item looks to be too good to be true, then it is".

I live in a very quiet neighborhood but this alarm kept on going off out of nothing or as I later figured out just out of airplanes passing by. Even though I lowered the sensitivity as indicated in the instructions to (supposedly)50% and even when turning it off completely it still went off again and again.
It is very easy to install indeed but I could not tolerate disturbing my neighbors several times at night, so I had to put it back in the mail.

Installation was real easy, only one wire to attach to the battery, with an aligator clip and a couple of bolts to screw into the body of the car. Only had one problem! Went out of town for the day, a neighbor called me on my cell phone saying the alarm was going off and he wasn't able to stop it. I had put the remote near the vehicle just in case I wasn't home. He tried to disarm using the remote but it wouldn't work no mater what he did, so the alarm didn't stop sounding. I was afraid if the police would be called. After a couple of hours my neighbor hit the hood of the car real hard then the alarm finally went off. Now I am affraid to turn the alarm on because I don't want to disturb the neighbors again.
