5.0 out of 5 stars Great Artist
Let me begin by saying that you can not compare artists because in reality they are all completely different. You can not compare him to Eminem, they are very different. Ask yourself this: If he wasnt rapping on Eminem's label would you still have thought that he was like Eminem? He's a good lyricist and his flows go well over his beats because he uses live instrumentals...

1.0 out of 5 stars What a Disappointment! 2 Thumbs Down.
I heard a song by this guy before Detroit Players. That's about the only good thing I ever heard from him I was hoping for more like that.

Couldnt find 1 song I really like and could bump in my ride, how many people does he need in his group? This CD was a total waste of my good money and I'll be selling it used on here.
I dont mean to be a hater, I do...

Let me begin by saying that you can not compare artists because in reality they are all completely different. You can not compare him to Eminem, they are very different. Ask yourself this: If he wasnt rapping on Eminem's label would you still have thought that he was like Eminem? He's a good lyricist and his flows go well over his beats because he uses live instrumentals something that Eminem does not do. Listen to his message they are inspirational songs that get you pumped up. He raps about things that fans can relate to something that not many artists do, he doesnt rap about how his girlfriend left him, his mom took drugs, and how he wants to kill his whole family except his kids something that Eminem does a lot, but it works for him because that is Eminem. But back to Hush because this is about him. This is about 90% Hush at least it has'nt been completely "Eminemified" or touched by Dre. I gave it a 4.5 and rounded it because you can see where Eminem has put in his work on some songs which I feel do not suit Hush. I think certain songs should have been removed and replaced with something from his mixtapes which I found to be superb because they wer pure Hush. One thing is clear Hush is a rapper to be reckoned with and I can see him staying for a long time because he is a good producer, and an Excellent lyricist. However let me say this, he is for Rap fans not for Hip-Hop fans. He is much like Xzibit in that he is not famous let alone for his music, however when you ask a fan of Hush or Xzibit about them their response is nothing but positive. He is for the people that bought an Eminem CD because of songs like Amityville or Marshall Mathers not for songs like "Just Lose It" that are extremely overplayed and the tip of the iceberg. - Magik

I dont mean to be a hater, I do like the Roses and Razorblades CD but only for 1 song.

I was hoping to hear some special guests like Cadillac Dale (Liked his appearence in Dealing With Some Stars song forgot the group though), Shane Capone, or other local Detroit talent on this like in the Detroit Players song.

Very disappointing, I was expecting much more to come out of this guy. Maybe next time?

32 used copies available starting around $4 here on Amazon I think confirms my feelings.

Just updating my review. 10/20/2005 Now there's 123 copies starting at .49 cents!! Wow haha

For less than the price of a cup of coffee you can help feed and cloth MC Hush, We know you've thought about it, what are you doing? Click the key now and buy your copy of BulletProof haha.

Sorry dont mean to hate, was tryin to be funny. Hope he does better in the future.

I never even knew who Hush was until I saw the conclusion of The Contender last year and he sang 24 Hours live. Off top, I had a feeling the guy could spit but NOTHIN LIKE THIS!!! One of my favorite tracks is 24hrs. The beat is somethin sick and how he spits it makes the song top notch. The one thing that pisses me off though, is he has a line in every song that will make you say "Damn! he said what?" or will have you sayin ooooohhhhh!!, but his album probably didn't even go gold! I hope to hear much more from Hush because he is better than some of these rappers out here who get crazy radio play and they don't even deserve it.

After hearing fired up i went out and purchased this cd. It definitly filled its expectations. The best tracks on this are 2, 4, 6, 7, and 10. I think 6 might be the best song on here. It is probably my favorite song out.

I'm not a music reviewer, so I'll keep this short. This LP is okay, but if you want to hear some better hush, you should check out his mixtape, "full clip." It's much, much better. You can't cop it thru amazon, but it is available...

4.0 out of 5 stars Hush is coming, November 16, 2005
This review is from: Bulletproof (Audio CD)
Hush is an old underground rapper from Detroit and suddenly Eminem felt that he wanted to help his old homie. And here he comes with a real live band to back him up.
Because of the live band the sound of the CD is mainly built up by electric guitar riffs. It may seem a litte odd, but I find the most of the beats very good. Check out the two bangers "Fired Up" and the Eminem produced "Hush is Coming" feat. Nate Dogg. The riffs also works well on the more laid back sogns like, "24 hours" and "Superstar". Hush himself is a good rapper with a nice aggressive flow and as you may exspect; battle influenced lyrics. Of course it is not all perfect. Some tracks sounds a little bit too much like each other and we should also had been provided with another "struggle-of-life-track" like "24 hours". I would highly recommend this CD for all of you who is sick of all that too commercial and sound-alike hiphop thats out there.
Buy this for also for Hush himself, you can feel his hunger througout the album.

Standout tracks:
Fired UP
Hush is Coming feat. Nate Dogg
Let it Breathe feat. Talib Kweli
Superstar
24 Hours

Forgettable tracks:
Off to Tijuana feat. Eminem and D12
Put`Em Down

4.0 out of 5 stars HUSH IS COMING, August 24, 2005
This review is from: Bulletproof (Audio CD)
I have ben a Hush fan since his underground group Da Ruckus with Uncle Ill, I have his other underground classic Roses & raze blades on Rock City recs. And now after all the time he has put in to his music and his style he is getting the major attention he deservs. His new album is just as sick as all his other cd if not better. The production is top notch and fits his style perfect Eminem even laced two beats for him (about time) he helped out other D white rappers. Anyway pick this cd up you will not be dispointed every track is fire also go get Roses & razer Blades and Da Ruckus if you can find it.

5.0 out of 5 stars finally something new for hiphop, August 24, 2005
This review is from: Bulletproof (Audio CD)
this album is off the hook...this guy has paid his dues and deserves everything he gets..i had the chance to meet him last weekend,he's a real down to earth guy.I think what sets this album apart from the rest of the (...) that is hiphop is that he preforms with a live band behind him, this is one of the best CD's i've heard in awhile...if u've heard his single "the march" off the XXX state of the union soundtrack u can undertand where im comin from. The song on this album that stands out from the rest is Fired Up..its just got that beat and them guitar riffs that separates it from all the other rap music comin out nowadays.Actually Most of Bulletproofs tracks have driving, hard beats complimented by guitars to support Hush's aggressive flow and hardcore lyrics.
Overall this album is hot...pick it up if u havent...see some of the hottest stuff to come out of Detroit in awhile....might even make u say Em who?
