I was unprepared for the impact of this anthology. I hoped for an entertaining read but it was more like a punch in the polar plexus. This is simply one of the most powerful poetry collections I have had the pleasure of reading. I cannot recommend it enough. Xavier has always been a master poet but his editorial skills are astonishing as he pulls together the best of the best. If words could catch paper on fire this book could burn down every bookstore and library in the world.
