5.0 out of 5 stars A Standard For All Jazz Musicians To Live By, October 16, 1998

If you're a fan of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, be sure to check out this CD. All the influences that they talk about were, infact, influenced by the musicians on this CD. ENJOY!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun collection of old music, March 28, 2002

The collection of songs on this disc is great. A wide variety of sounds from the Jazz Age is ideal for introducing someone to the era of Broadway of the 1930's. I've played it as intro music when I have small dinner parties and cocktail hours. It really helps set the mood. My only complaint is that the disc is pretty short, as most of the songs are short themselves. However, it's a great compilation-type disc of early jazz favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific!!, August 19, 2006

I love this CD - from start to finish, but I wanted to throw out a special mention for (one of the contemporary performers) Dick Hyman, who plays so beautifully on his solo piano version of "Thou Swell" and also on the two piano duet "That Certain Feeling". Wonderful stride-style piano playing. I understand that Dick Hyman was also the band leader for the "Three Deuces" orchestra that plays in scenes in the film.

This is a great CD, I couldn't recommend it more. A wonderful selection of classic and contemporary recordings.

4.0 out of 5 stars BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, January 1, 2012

I just finished watching the DVD for the upmteenth time. For some odd reason, I had no idea that Woody Allen had directed it--which is so strange because it has all his earmarks, including a terrific soundtrack. This soundtrack along with the soundtrack to The Imposters is a sort of must-have for 20's/30's jazz. Truly, a terrific martini drinking soundtrack. The Impostors

5.0 out of 5 stars He always selects the right music!, August 6, 2005
This review is from: Bullets Over Broadway: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I think Woody Allen knows how important the music is in his films. He always seem to select the right piece of music that creates the right mood and inhances the story and enjoyment of his films.
