On the surface, this book is a book about the creation of El Bulli, of the Adrias' early days and about the things they cooked. However, one needs to get one's hands dirty and dive in past the pretty pictures and into the text (which is in spanish). You will find the words written linger with you long after you close the pages. I am not a chef, I do not work with food or in the restaurant business. I would characterize this book as Philosophy. Not cooking philosophy per se, but general philosophy. This book (it will take a lifetime to read in its entirety) is changing the way I think about food, cooking, and life.
