5.0 out of 5 stars One heck of a brutal thriller! Worth it!
I saw this movie a long time ago and I remember quite a few things from it. A knife playing game much like a scene from Aliens. Olivia D' Abo being so good looking and violence and mayhem up the wazoo. The only other thing I remember is that Bullies was directed by Paul Lynch, who also made the original Prom Night and Humongous. Other than that this is not for everybody...

3.0 out of 5 stars At Least There's Olivia D'Abo in a Wet T-Shirt
I remember this film chiefly for some disturbing scenes:

1. An elderly couple's car being driven off the road by an aggressive truck. The old couple die.
2. A wimpy garage mechanic is tortured is his own garage -- and forced to watch one of his beloved cars being vandalized.
3. Our young hero's mother is brutally raped (in a nearby laundry...

Other than that this is not for everybody because this is an extremely violent flick but I liked it for the amazing climax that this film has. Well the buildup to it was perfect and boy do these guys deserve what they get. Believe me they do!!! Watch and enjoy!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great job this movie did, November 2, 1999

This movie really captures what goes on in the bad side of life. And this movie is partially non-fiction because in some parts of the world the violent occurences that took place in this movie really do happen. And this movie did a great job of explaining that.

2. A wimpy garage mechanic is tortured is his own garage -- and forced to watch one of his beloved cars being vandalized.
3. Our young hero's mother is brutally raped (in a nearby laundry room, was it?) while he is forced to listen.

All this in the midst of some beautiful Canadian mountains and forests!

Not the most pleasant viewing experience -- but I seem to recall Olivia D'Abo in a wet T-shirt, so the end product is not entirely worthless.

4.0 out of 5 stars a must see, June 19, 2005

i first saw this movie when it came out back in the late 80's-early 90's. i would have to say that this is one of my all time favourites! For a Canadian film, it really impressed me then, as does it now. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good, realistic, action packed, edge of your seat, drama. Johnathon Crombie and Olivia D'Abo are incredible and it really makes u wonder why they havent achieved success more than they have in the movie world. It's about a family who comes to a small town which is run by a family of bullies who murder and terrorize whoever they feel like with a really good ending. Get this movie--you wont be disappointed!

1.0 out of 5 stars TURKEY!!, March 13, 2003
This review is from: Bullies [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Trashy film about a family of three that move to a redneck town and quickly discover that it is run by the towns riches family. A scary looking bunch that can't afford dental care or even razors. I can suspend my belief only so far. And not with movies that want you to believe that a family that runs a town doesn't own a bathtub. I'm just assuming they don't since that percentage of the cast look like scrubs that bathe in a muddy pond. I did not like this film it had bad performances (by a cast of unknowns), cinematography (bad lighting in the last 35 minutes), lame script (100% unbelievable), bad direction (well the director did allow all of the above). AVOID THIS ULTRA TURKEY EVEN ON THANKSGIVING!!
