I bought this to wear with a black and red outfit for a rave. It's actually very nice quality and I second most of what the other reviewer said. If you want a way to mix punk and preppy styles, this is it. I received tons of compliments that night and have gotten many more on subsequent occasions. If you are worried about wearing it out, no one has realized what it said without the hint of "there is something special about this tie." Most people need me to turn it sideways but a few can figure it out once they know to look more carefully. Even when they can't read it they think it's a beautiful and unique tie (and usually think it is inspired by Arabic.)

I bought this as a gag gift and when it arrived I was very impressed with the quality of the material and the vibrance of the colors. Though it isn't silk, it has a very glossy sheen to it. The picture on AMAZON does not do it justice. The workmanship is very good and without any flaw. Well worth the price. Unless you tell someone what it says, they really can't see that word.
