4.0 out of 5 stars Endless Time,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)There is no question that when it has came down to watches, many people have often overlooked automatic watches than quartz battery watches for over 20 years. But there are those that have made simple, and delightful automatics for the people. That has been the case with Bulova, and their Men's BVA Dual Aperture Watch. This watch is very easy to setup, and a snap to wear for any man on the go. But this is also one of the few austomatic watches that doesn't show the over-designed skeletal face on the watch. That design has gotten to be so tiring. This watch shows a simple second hand, and a 24-hour subdial that is easy to read and understand. It also shows itself brilliantly in a stainless steel bezel and leather strap that can easily be adjusted with a snap, and a push of the button. I definitely recommend this watch for any gentleman whom trusts Bulova watches, and is looking for a automatic watch, that is both classy and dressy at the same time.
Comfort & Convient: B+
Overall: B 1/2+

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Father's Day gift!,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)This was ordered as a Father's Day gift for my husband (in theory, from our son; he's three though, so...). Since my husband can't carry a cell phone at work, having a nice watch seemed like a good idea. He was skeptical of its value at first, though he liked the "self-winding" idea.
Within two days, he proclaimed that he liked it a lot. I did also get him a watch winder so that if he doesn't wear it for a few days it will keep wound. We have found that it gains about 2 minutes over the course of a week, but that's pretty typical for a completely mechanical watch (no quartz crystal, no battery, etc.) and we don't consider that a problem.
It's a snazzy looking watch with a really cool clasp on the leather band. It looks like you buckle the leather band, but it actually has a clasp similar to what metal watch bands have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes a great first impression,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)UPS dropped the watch off a few hours ago. Looks great on. The fact that amazon only lists one picture doesn't give you a great idea of the side and back views. It has an open back to view the movement. The color scheme on the face is great. The rose gold colored accents class it up a lot. Setting the clasp to the right size took a few attempts, but nothing too difficult. The band is nice, but the leather doesn't have a very rich look to it. I imagine it'll look better with some wear to it. I already have a black and silver Bulova Precisionist and love it. That's why I chose Bulova for a brown watch to go with other clothing choices. I selected the self winding style to sample something a little different. It seems like it'll work well with both business and casual dress. To sum it up, great looking watch, never needs a battery, looking forward to wearing it a lot in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bulova 96A120,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)Purchased this in late May, 2012. The watch is a lot brighter in person than in the pictures, which I feel is a positive thing - it appeared a bit dull when I first saw the pictures here on Amazon. I wear it daily (for casual to dressy occasions) and receive compliments on it regularly. What really makes this watch special, for me, is the rose gold accents. Definitely a good purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Watch,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)Bulova has a very attractive watch here. The picture does not do it justice. The chocholate guilloche dial with gold roman numerals, rose gold subdials for seconds and a 24 hour complication, along with the rose gold hour markers over a silver ring and the open balance wheel blend beautifully with the bright stainless steel case to produce a visual delight.
The movement makes noise when you shake the watch - but only for a moment when the automatic wheel is spinning quickly, so I do not shake the watch. It is otherwise a very quiet, accurate movement that is fun to see in action. You will be pleased if you add this watch to your collection.
(Note: the 24 hour subdial is not a second time zone complication. It cannot be set, only indicates AM/PM hours)
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and simple,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)I purchased the watch for a steal of a deal! It looks much better in person, to get a better idea search it on youtube. It is beautiful and simple for its price - automatic may lose some time but shouldnt lose more than a few seconds daily. Recommended as a gift or for personal use.

It has a very nice clasp, so that you adjsut the leather strap once and don't have to again! The face is absolutely gorgeous! Better than I expected. I loved it so much I wrapped it up and gave it to my husband as an early Christmas gift! He has already worn it a couple times!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dressy Casual,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)Sexy!! Found this watch at a big department store. Tried it on and loved it. The sales woman was great and went above and beyond to help me. Naturally, I came home and bought it on Amazon.. Time keeping is accurate and the look is classicly classy, yet subtle enough to be worn casually. Endless compliments.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE This Watch,
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96A120 BVA Series Dual Aperture Dial Watch (Watch)I bought the Bulova 96A120 after a friend of mine bought the 96A108. I saw his and fell in love with the nice leather band, but super-cool updated clasp. I also liked the steampunkish look to his. After googling a bit I found this version, which is a little more expensive than the 108, but is way nicer and way cooler looking. The steampunk vibe is palpable. It still has the super-nice clasp and embossed "crocodile-patterned" leather band.
It does tend to gain between one and two minutes per week, but that's not a big deal. I would complain if it lost time, but slightly gaining time is fine for me. I'd rather be early to a meeting than late.
I always give it a twist or two when I put it on, just to keep it properly wound, and once every two weeks or so, I circumcise it with my radio (atomic) clock.
I'll NEVER need a watch battery again, and the way that Obama is doing his job, there may come a day when watch batteries (along with food, water and shelter) are hard to find. I have solar panels for my "atomic" clock so I should be good for years to come.
Overall I am terribly pleased with this wristwatch and dissuade my friends from getting one, so that mine will be unique among my crowd.
If you don't know me, then hurry out to go get one. If you are one of my friends, then these watches suck. Go buy a timex; they're way better.
Since then I have purchased the Bulova Precisionist 96B175. Though I love my 96A120, I seriously dig my new 96B175. They are not even closely related though, so go figure.
