4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice and non-intentional retro watch for the money
**I'd just like to preface by saying that I've been collecting watches, mostly vintage mid to upper range swiss, for many years**

This watch caught my eye while I was just sort of looking at what new items are out there in it's price range, where one can't really expect all that much. Still it doesn't hurt to look. I liked the intial appeal of the white dial...

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful watch, not easy to read
I am the husband of Toddler Mom, and I LOVE the look and feel of this watch. However, it can take a full second or two to find the fine stainless hands agains the white background with two stainless circles & stainless hour hash marks. In dim light it takes even longer. I'm 42, don't wear bifocals, and shouldn't need an "easy reader" watch yet, right??

**I'd just like to preface by saying that I've been collecting watches, mostly vintage mid to upper range swiss, for many years**

This watch caught my eye while I was just sort of looking at what new items are out there in it's price range, where one can't really expect all that much. Still it doesn't hurt to look. I liked the intial appeal of the white dial on this so ordered one and was pleasantly surprised. The dial is much nicer than pictured; a matte white affair with nice sunburst texturing on the inner area. Between that, the skeleton hands, the nicely done signature and the two small silver dials and the "Swiss" marking below the 6 O'Clock marker, this watch in my mind goes back to a late 1960's piece. Never mind that the subdials are for day and date and the latter is essentially too small to read without really squinting, and it has a quartz movement, it's a great looking watch, has a nice hefty wrist feel and just looks classy/sporty. In the pics it looks like the case, markers and bracelet are matte but in fact they are very shiny. It's overall a nice contrasty look against the dail. I don't much care for the double/hidden folding device of the bracelet, it has a slighly cheap look and feel and is annoying to put on at times but is tolerable. The head itself is on the thin side and sits very well on the wrist. While it is 40MM wide, the beveled bezel is wide, making the overall look smaller.

Just MO but I feel this watch is a good deal, especially if you can find it in the lower price ranges, which is easy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, but DOW hand fell off after six months, August 9, 2010
This review is from: Bulova Men's 96C34 Moon Phase Watch (Watch)
My wife got me this watch for Christmas, because I'm an amateur astronomer, and I loved the look and feel. After just six months, the day-of-week hand fell off. Contacted Bulova, they said they needed the receipt for warranty repair. We had just moved to another state and the receipt's in a box somewhere.

I'm not rough on my watches, and don't feel this is something that should have happened so soon.

I purchased this watch as a gift for my fiancee. It was delivered quickly and in good condition. I don't know much about watches, but he loved it.

PROS:
Looks beautiful on my husbands wrist, it has a really nice elegant but not over the top look when on the wrist.

CONS:
My husband is not a skinny many 5'10" and 190lbs and this watch could do with a link being removed for it to sit perfectly on his wrist but it doesn't fall off so he hasn't removed a link as yet.
