The Bulova Story

In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.

Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.

Today, Bulova maintains its tradition of excellence in technology and design, offering a diverse collection of beautiful precision timepieces for every occasion.

This is my first Bulova timepiece, and I'm in love. I didn't want anything too gaudy, but I still wanted it to look feminine. I also have a small wrist, but wanted a watch with the chronograph function. This watch is definitely what I was looking for- the tiny diamond hour-markers really shine, and the mother of pearl inlay is really beautiful- it is far more striking in person.

I did need four links removed by a jeweler to fit my wrist, but the actual diameter of the watch's face is just right- I have all the function of a chronograph without it looking like a men's watch. I highly recommend this if you're looking for something that can work with both casual and more formal looks. (Plus, the price is awesome- have you seen what these retail for?)

I absolutely love this watch. I've been looking for the right chunky watch..my wrist is fairly small and most of the oversized watches are really too large. This watch is the perfect size and weight! The mother of pearl face gives just the right amount of bling without being overboard. It's very classy and I think it's perfect for casual every day and also for a night out. I highly recommend!

I have been looking for a watch for a few years now. I saw this online and thought it was so unique. Nice quality and masculine and feminine. I have always wanted a Tag Heuer, but knew three grand was too rich for my blood. I am insanely picky and always look for quality. I found this watch on ebay for even less and let me tell you, I would pay $500 for this watch no problem. It is beautiful, heavy and quality! I have a tiny wrist and wanted something a little masculine but not too big. It fits great (minus several links). It can be worn with jeans and a sweatshirt or a cocktail dress. I know I will get tons of compliments on this watch. By the way, I had never seen it in a store, only online and based on the rave reviews, I thought I'd try it. It really is even better in person.
