The Bulova Story
In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.
Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.
Today, Bulova maintains its tradition of excellence in technology and design, offering a diverse collection of beautiful precision timepieces for every occasion.

I fell in love with the design of this watch and ordered it. The small size, the fact that it was a silver finish and the simple but elegant design of crystals was just what I needed for evening and special occasions. The fact that it is a Bulova watch assured me of the quality. Now that I have received it and worn it , I love it even more. The picture did not do it justice.

I purchased this watch for my wife, who was looking for a slender "jewelry" watch appropriate for certain outfits. She already has several other watches, and knowing this would not be worn frequently I was looking more for style than substance. This watch delivers on the style; it's very nice looking and the crystals are handsome, not tacky at all (I feared they might be.) The bracelet and case design are classic and feminine, but not dainty; it feels quite durable. It looks like it should cost more than it does. The watch is nigh-impossible to read at a glance, but again, this is a piece of jewelry, not a tool watch. It should be noted that like most other Bulova watches at this price point it is made in China and has a Japanese quartz movement. Again, if you want the best pure timepiece, this watch is not for you; higher-quality Swiss quartz movements are available from manufacturers such as Coach at this price point. This does not reduce my rating of the watch. One final note, the bracelet design is comfortable, but it cannot flex fully, so the watch can't be laid flat face-up. This is not a deal-breaker, but it was unexpected.
