This wide, round silver watch case is topped with a gold-tone bezel that frames a dazzling array of tiny diamonds embedded into the bezel. Its white dial face includes three subdials (chrono minutes, seconds, and 24-hour) as well as shiny gold hour markers (with luminous tips), gold-outlined luminous hands, small minute indexes, and a date function at 4 o'clock. It's completed by a stainless steel bracelet band that mixes silver and gold tones. This precise quartz timepiece also features a scratch-resistant mineral crystal and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet).

The Bulova Story

In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.

Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.

I dropped and cracked the crystal on my 7-year-old Seiko, so I had no choice but to buy a new watch while it was sent in for repairs (great excuse, eh?). I saw this watch at Dillard's and immediately fell in love. Then I found it at Amazon for half the price! Received it 3 days after placing the order (and no, I didn't pay for fast shipping). I receive compliments on it daily. Several coworkers are thinking of buying the same model. It's absolutely gorgeous, and it makes the transition from casual to dressy with no effort at all. The only things I wish I could change were the second-hand -- it's one of the tiny dials, while the "traditional" secondhand is only for stopwatch functions -- and the calendar, which I wish was a perpetual calendar like my old watch (never have to adjust for 30 day months, leap years, etc). Certainly neither of these was a deal-breaker. Buy this watch; you'll love it. One other thing you should know before ordering if you're very petite: it is a little larger than most traditional women's watches.

I've owned this watch for a couple of years now. I got it from a high-priced, high-end jewelry store and it was about twice the price that Amazon has it listed for. The only way I was able to purchase this from that particular place was that I had won a $500 gift card via a radio station contest. Needless to say, I still had to pay out some money, but I fell in love with this watch and wanted it badly. I still love it. It is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. It is amazingly beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time. It's one of those pieces that you never tire of wearing. I've had to have the battery replaced once now and had to go to a high-end jeweler to have it done. It only cost $10 but was worth it. They had a tough time opening it because it is semi water proof. Don't let a discount store attempt this. I've added this one on Amazon to my wish list because I would love to have a second one in case I ever loose or damage this one. I love it that much. I do agree with one of the other reviewers that the second hand would be the only thing I would change. Yes, it has a larger face and is much heavier than your standard "Timex" type watch, but it is so much more than one of those. If you can, buy this watch and be amazed at how beautiful it is (especially the rose gold) and at all the compliments you will receive on it.
