This book was a fun read and an informative one. My husband and I were Oiler fans during the Luv Ya Blue days and the book brought back a lot of good memories, both of the Oiler players and of Bum. Football in Houston will never be the same. I find it particularly inspiring that Bum has dedicated the rest of his life to the Lord and helping those who so desperately need Jesus Christ.

Growing up in the same area, although in a different time, I really enjoyed the history and stories from his childhood. The football fan will enjoy the NFL years and stories from the 70's and early 80's time frame when the game different. The times and wars of this generation forged men that we don't see in today's world. There are many lessons we can learn from the Coach, Cowboy and Christian!

Reading this book was like sitting across the table from Coach Phillips. I knew some of the content in advance, but I was interrested in his personal journey after football. He is one of Texas's living legends, and as long as Bum Phillips walks among us, the world is a better place.

During my high school years, my friends father had premium, 50 yard line tickets to the Oilers games. I was blessed enough to be invited to almost everygame. We painted ourselves blue and just knew we helped in some way to win those games. Bum Phillips and Earl Campbell were our ultimate heros!!
This book is so inspiring and sets such a great example for our boys. As a mother of two, this is the kind of man you want them to model. This book would make a great movie and should be the type of story that our media covers.
Love Ya Blue!!! Never Forgotten!!!

Coach Phillips does an awesome job of not only sharing his faith, but sharing his life story of who he was and what he has become as a follower of Jesus. His life story is inspiring as being who you are and willing to see yourself as God sees us. A sinner who needs his son Jesus in order to be all we can be that God wants us to be . We are never too old or too young to give our life to Jesus.

Coach Phillips is an unusual person with a very interesting story to tell. The stories he selected to tell are both informative and entertaining. If you are a fan of Coach Phillips you will have a hard time putting the book down once you start reading it. The book, like the coach himself, is a very inspiring with much that can be learned from his life and experiences.

Evidence that nobody is too late to find salvation--if s/he personally acknowledges that what Jesus did on Calvary is enough and personally accepts this by faith.
