From School Library Journal
PreSchool-A poem originally published in 1959 about a familiar insect is matched with creative artwork to make an eye-catching board book. Brown's description of a "Rumbly/Tumbly/Bumbly bee" is flowing and uncomplicated. Children will enjoy the rhythm and singsong quality of the text, which is just the right length to keep their attention. The illustrations are bright and descriptive. A variety of materials, such as cloth, clay, beads, and netting, have been carefully and ingeniously molded to create a flying bee, clouds, flowers, and even pollen. Large, full-color photographs of the collages appear on double-page spreads. The lines of text, written in script, bend gracefully around the images. An excellent addition to board-book collections.
