5.0 out of 5 stars WORTH THE MONEY!
So far I love this stoller. I have had a Quinny Buzz and a Bugaboo and returned them both. So far I love this stoller. I have had a Quinny Buzz and a Bugaboo and returned them both. The Buzz was cool but I really wanted more of an all terain stoller since I live in Egypt and you never know what the side walks will be like from day to day. The Bugaboo was awful. Very cool to look at and it was comfy, but a total pain in the butt to break down and I had awful problems with the front wheels sticking. Anyways back on subject. THE INDIE...beautiful stroller, glides nicely, large basket (wish it had a drawstring closure or zipper to help keep things in it when it's in the folded position). It is so light weight and I find it easy to break down and love that it has clips to keep it closed. I wish the air pump had clips on it to attach it to the frame, but that is a minor complaint. My son is 7 months old and loves riding around it. I have recieved many compliments on it. I also love that it is not as wide as most joggers so it makes taking it shopping easy, plus it doesn't take up the entire trunk of my car. The only other thing I wish it had was a belly bar and a flat tray, then again I have not tried the snack pack yet so maybe I will love that. All in all this is a awesome stroller and I would recomend it to anyone with an active life style.

5.0 out of 5 stars great urban stroller, June 24, 2009
This review is from: BumbleRide Indie Stroller (Baby Product)
After many in store and online comparisons, we are so happy with our Bumbleride Indie. We looked at many joggers- BOB's, City Mini, MacClaren's and even considered the Bugaboo. This stroller is light for a jogger, has a great basket that holds plenty of groceries, manuevers easily with one had (especially while trying to get through doorways) and handles the bumpy sidewalks of Philly great. The frame is really solid and the carriage portion is solidily constructed with lightly padded fabric, which I'm sure the little one will love when she is big enough. Using the infant seat is really easy, as it just gets belted in with the included attachment. The canopy is nice and big and between it and the infant seat canopy I can completely cover the baby if needed. The only negatives are that the cup holder is in the way of the release latch to fold down the stroller, so it takes getting use to, as does learning how to collapse the stroller. After doing it a few times though, I have it down. I find the key is to keep my foot on the brake as leverage. Also, I wish the storage pouch had a zipper, as the pump and manual fall out of it when it gets folded down. It doesn't fold down to be the most compact stroller, but no joggers do, and if you really need it to be compact you can remove the wheels to help. I think this is a great jogger for the money. I have yet to use it as a jogger, as my baby is only 2 months, but it seems like it will be great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect solution for active, city parents!, May 24, 2010

When I started looking for a stroller, I needed one that met several criteria:

Easily portable and storable: I live in New York and do not own a car; but we needed something that folds easily for when we take cabs. We also have very limited space in the apartment
Light Jogger and all-terrain: My husband and I both love to run and do so very often in Central Park as well as Riverside Park.
Easy for stairs: We have lots of friends who live in walk-ups and we take the subway very regularly. So we needed a stroller that's lightweight and easily manageable in going up and down stairs
Versatile: And for all our criteria above, we wanted to be able to buy just one stroller and not have one for each purpose...because like I said above, we have limited space in the apartment
Stylish: This wasn't a necessary condition, but sure, we'd be happy to have a stroller that gets admired when we walk around town
True value : We didn't want to skimp on buying a good stroller but we didn't want a Bugaboo or Stokke for the coolness of it or because that's what everyone around you buys

The Bumbleride Indie is the perfect stroller for us. It is light, sturdy, durable, works great as a light jogger, looks quite stylish, at half the price than the Bugaboo or Stokke or any of those upmarket ones, folds in a jiffy - just the sort of stroller you want when you hail a cab on the street and want to quickly transport the baby to the cab and the stroller to the boot.

I am absolutely in love with my stroller. It involved a lot of research and I'm glad I found the perfect match for us! I only have good things to say about the Bumbleride Indie. Ohh and it also helps that it came with accessories(rain cover, car seat adapter, cup holder etc.) that you need to buy separately in other strollers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty near perfect!, June 24, 2010

LOVE this stroller. My daughter is one year and we also have a McClaren Volo that I intended to use for travelling and other trips outside the neighborhood. The Indie is so lightweight and easy to fold that we rarely opt for the McClaren. Travelling with it is a breeze, it even comes in handy as a luggage cart when needed. My daughter has used it from day one without her car seat attached (although we've tried that too)as the seat reclines. So easy to maneuver, even in 36" of snow this winter!

5.0 out of 5 stars So happy with our Bumbleride Indie!, April 30, 2010
This review is from: BumbleRide Indie Stroller (Baby Product)
I am really excited about our 2009 Bumbleride Indie. I have been using it more and more now that my daughter is seven months old and getting a bit heavy for the baby carrier. We live in an urban setting and many time each week we head right out on front door to walk to the library, grocery store and/or park. The sidewalks in our neighborhood are often broken and uneven but our Bumbleride Indie doesn't mind one bit. It literally glides over the rough terrain without disturbing my daughter's peace and comfort. I love the viewing window in the large, extended canopy. It is perfect for peeking in to see if she is napping without stopping the motion keeping her asleep. However, my favorite thing about my Bumbleride Indie has to be how insanely easy it is to push, steer, and turn. Many times I am doing so one-handed, with a basket of groceries in my other hand. The Indie turns on a dime and just glides! The narrow aisles of our neighborhood grocery are no problem at all - the Indie can turn in a pretty small amount of space and I never have to struggle with picking it up and repositioning it. It is just so easy! I was worried a bit about the fold and the folded size of the Indie, as a few reviews I read implied that these things were problematic. However, I was quite pleased to find that I could fold the Indie quickly after a few practice rounds. It is really just two quick steps - I am glad I did not let other reviews stop me from choosing the Indie. Also, once folded, I can easily lift the Indie in and out of the back of my Subaru without any trouble. It does take up more than half of the space in my trunk, but I believe it is still smaller than other all-terrain strollers. Products like the Bumbleride Indie are just one of the many reasons why I was looking forward to becoming a mom. I love my Indie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy-Breezy, August 2, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: BumbleRide Indie Stroller (Baby Product)
Assembling this stroller was a breeze. It is easy to pack into the back of the car, easy to put together in the parking lot, and the baby loves it.
You can push this stroller with one finger, that is how smoothly it runs. Not to mention, it has so many neat features that you can add on, including a peep window in the sunshade so that you can see what your precious cargo is up to.
I found the storage space underneath the stroller to be plentiful.
It is great for walks/jogs around the neighborhood, for off the beaten path experiences, or for moving around the mall.
At first, I found the price to be off setting. However, now that we own this stroller, I think it is well worth the expenditure. When we add another baby to the mix, I will definitely look into Bumbleride's two seater options.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the features, great at first, then started having some issues with it..., February 1, 2012
This review is from: BumbleRide Indie Stroller (Baby Product)
This is an update to my previous review---

I've now had the Indie for about 6 months. Although I'm not sure there's anything better on the market (in terms of weight and features), I have run in to a number of problems with it.

Problem 1: The back wheel rim bent, and so the inner tub starter protruding out. I did not hit the wheel on anything or take it on a plane or do anything that I think would be abusive to the stroller... I walk a lot with it, but on sidewalks and parks. So this was surprising.
Problem 2: The harness that you strap baby into broke. Also not sure how this happened.
Problem 3: The zipper on my footmuff just broke, making it next to impossible to close it.
Problem 4: There is a safety recall/issue with the front wheel.

I contacted Bumbleride about all of these problems (except 3), and they responded immediately (like within hours), and sent me replacements for everything. However, even with very very good customer service, they still told me, for safety reasons, to discontinue use of my stroller until the new part arrived. The wheels and harness (they had to send the whole seat) took about 2 weeks each to arrive. I live in the city. I use my stroller every day. I can't just "discontinue use". Am I supposed to buy another stroller to use while my indie sits idly waiting for new parts? My stroller is under 6 months old and I've already had some relatively major problems with it, and out of the 6 months, I'd say a month of that I couldn't use it... So this isn't so good. But again, for the features and weight, I really don't know a better option, and at least their customer service is very good...

Old review--

I have been using the bumbleride indie single 2011 in Ocean now for 4 weeks now, since my baby was born.
I LOVE it. I live in NYC, and it's been super convenient and great for strolls, and fits pretty easily into our outback. I haven't tried public transportation yet... don't think that will be so easy, but no comparable stroller would be (eg, bugaboo, vista, etc...).

The other strollers I considered were the city mini, and a real jogger (like the bob and the baby jogger).

Why I liked the competition:
I really liked how easy the city mini folds, and also it's 2 lbs lighter than the indie.

I liked how solid the bob felt, and that other people seem to swear by them.

Why I chose the Indie, and why I love it and have no regrets about getting it:

-It lays basically flat. Definitely flatter than the city mini, much much flatter than any of the other jogger/all terrains strollers. We ended up getting a carrycot on craigslist (because the ocean carrycot isn't available), and use it constantly, but it's definitely convenient to be able to be able to throw the stroller in the car without the bassinet and stroll our newborn around and know that he's flat and happy. I wouldn't feel as comfortable doing this with a stroller that only partially reclines.

-It's light. 20lbs. The city mini is 18lbs. All of the additional features of the indie made it worth the 2 lbs. Of course it would be great if it was lighter thought!

-Bigger air filled wheels. It is so smooth. I haven't had any flats or anything, and don't think the tires will be that hard to change (though we are a bike-crazy family, so are very used to changing tires).

-One handed steering. Most strollers are. But it's great.

-Good suspension and steering. It seems to go over basically any urban terrain I can throw at it. Potholes, curbs, glass, construction debris, grass, dirt... Haven't tried the beach yet, but will this weekend! My guy seems totally content in it. Also turns on a dime.

-Big canopy. It's very big. And it has a zippered small pocket. So convenient for phone and keys. (caveat, see below, small wish list). With the carrycot in, I can completely cover him using both canopies.

-Folds pretty easily. Not as good as city mini. But definitely SOO much easier than bugaboo and vista. I considered both of these in the store for about 2 minutes, until the guy in the store couldn't even figure it out. The indie is a 2 step, 2 hand process, and you sort of have to lean all the way over the handlebar to get both hands on the lever thing that you pull in step one of the process, which is not so easy. But it's doable. And it fits pretty compactly in the car (took some adjusting to find just the right position).

-Love the color and material. I got the ocean. It's really pretty, and doesn't have annoying logos all over it like most strollers (and indeed the jet indie). The material seems relatively breathable. Though my little one does seem rather sweaty when he comes out... On the other hand, I live in new york city, where it's very hot and muggy...

-Big basket. Seems pretty big and relatively easy, considering that I have the back completely down.

-Comes with car seat adapter and works with car seat adapter easily. I have the graco snugride35 carseat (on the recommendation of thecarseatlady), and it fits right in no problem. The adapter clicks out easily when I want to put the carrycot in.

-Converts to jogger. Haven't tried that as I'm only allowed to walk now, but will! Hope it's good, and allows me to do some "jogging" (eg, 2-3 miles on relatively flat surfaces).

Small wish list:
-I wish that the canopy pocket was a bit bigger.

-I wish that the rain shield and pump came with it.

-Don't love the cup holder... not sure how to improve it, but it's not great and gets caught constantly. Will take it off soon...

-Easier fold would be awesome. But it's not bad...

-I wish the jet color came with black trim, not blue.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Stroller, Horrible Customer Service, September 15, 2011
This review is from: BumbleRide Indie Stroller (Baby Product)
I love the way this stroller looks and rides. It's a beauty!

However, I had a problem with one of my rear tires and have been waiting for more than 2 weeks to receive a replacement from Bumbleride. I have tried calling their customer service, and have left a message twice. I have also emailed their customer service several times and have not received a response. It's too bad that my beautiful stroller comes from a company that takes such poor care of their customers. When the time comes to purchase a replacement or larger stroller, I'll be looking elsewhere.
