5.0 out of 5 stars Best diaper for us
Absolutely love these diapers. I recently (in the last month) went through many cloth diapers in search of the right one. I tried all the major brands; Kushies, Bumpkins (the regular cotton flannel), Thirsties, BumGenius etc. The Bumkins Bamboo worked out best for us and I paired with a Thirsties diaper cover (Love the leg gussets!).My 15 mo daughter is very active and...

Absolutely love these diapers. I recently (in the last month) went through many cloth diapers in search of the right one. I tried all the major brands; Kushies, Bumpkins (the regular cotton flannel), Thirsties, BumGenius etc. The Bumkins Bamboo worked out best for us and I paired with a Thirsties diaper cover (Love the leg gussets!).My 15 mo daughter is very active and always on the go and with this combination I have no leaks to report! I chose a diaper and cover option versus the all-in-one diapers in preparation for potty training. I let my daughter run round with just the diaper (no cover) while we are playing to help us both learn her piddle pattern and get a jump start on using the potty. Had I gone with just an all-in-one version however, I would have chosen the Thirsties. These all in ones seemed to be the softest, with the nicest fit and finish over the other options.

5.0 out of 5 stars Any other cloth diapers are a waste of money!, August 31, 2010
This review is from: Bumkins Fitted Diaper Bundle - Size 1 (Baby Product)
I bought a six pack of these to start out, in addition to the traditional cloth diapers and covers. I wish I could go back and spend all my money on these alone. The only downside I found to these was that, when our baby was brand-new and only having breastmilk (and producing runny BMs that stain everything a vivid turmeric yellow) these were a little hard to clean and size small is just a little too big for a seven-pound baby. (Please note that I ordered the colorful unisex ones and did not want to use bleach, which would have done the trick. If I'd gone with white to start, this could have been avoided. That said, after a few washes, the stains have abated for the most part.)
Now I use these diapers all the time as they are unbelievably absorbent and continue to fit very well as our baby moves along the size continuum. These are the only cloth diapers to use at night. We couple ours with some of the thick cotton/flannel inserts and have never seen leakage. These blow other cloth diapers away and are very attractive, to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, convenient and comfortable, July 7, 2009

These fitted diapers are great! The size 1 seemed to fit my baby best after he reached 13 lbs. They are easy to clean and don't retain any odor (I also have some hemp cloth which do smell a little funny). They have remained so soft, despite many washings. The velcro is placed well so that it does not irritate or rub the legs. I use a cloth diaper cover (Nikky brand and Thirsties) and have not had any leaks. I plan to get the next size when my baby is ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite diapers ever!, June 13, 2009
I have tried at least 6 other types of cloth diapers including AIO's and your old fashioned pre-fold with pins. This is my fourth time around diapering a baby and I must say these are the BEST! They are very absorbant and soft. They have maintained their softness so far, as well. They do take a bit of drying, but I am going to pick up some clothes pins and hang them after the first dry cycle. In my opinion, these are stand alone. Wonderful.

3.0 out of 5 stars beware, February 8, 2011
okay, this review is a response to another two star review that I thought was missing some major insight. The reviewer returned the diapers because they were 10% polyester, and never tried them. This indicated to me that she has objections to artificial fabrics... if that's a problem for you these are the WRONG diapers anyway, and here's why. The process involved in making fabric from Bamboo is highly toxic!! They use loads... of chemicals....!! There is only one organic manufacturer who has managed to find a somewhat better process; they use the same chemicals, but then filter the water left over before dumping it. That makes it safer for the environment... but if your concern is chemicals in contact with your baby's skin... not much help... I turned this up in one day's research online- so feel free to look up organic fabrics and read about the bamboo processing yourself if you want to, it should be easy to find.

That said, some people care and some don't- so take the info or leave it according to whether this matters to you. As someone with chemical sensitivities it matters to me, but I also know there are lots of advantages to the fabric itself. It is more absorbent than cotton, antibacterial by nature, supposedly as or more durable than hemp, soft as cotton, and is supposed to resist stains. All those things make it great material for diapers if you're not concerned about the chemicals in the process. Wood Ash Lye soap is a detergent generally found at Asian grocers. I'm told it can remove many chemical residues. I've considered buying it for the sake of these diapers... and the more they are sunned and washed the less they would off-gas, so used would probably actually be better. I just thought the reviewer was obviously uninformed and that people should know the drawback to bamboo. It's still great material in a great product- but be aware that your baby will be exposed to more chemicals in this than say hemp or cotton. So weigh it in or ignore it depending on whether that matters to you :) Happy diapering.

4.0 out of 5 stars SO soft, but not practical...., January 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bumkins Fitted Diaper Bundle - Size 1 (Baby Product)
My son & daughter wanted these diapers for their first baby and I was reluctant to spend this much on diapers, but my granddaughter was worth it, right?! These are super-soft and they loved them, but did not "wick away" the moisture enough and she often got rashes when wearing these. They had to switch to disposables at night & cloth diapers, which were easier on their life & baby's butt.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% Bamboo, May 29, 2009
I was so excited to get these diapers, then they arrived. They are extremely soft but I did not use them. The tag on the diaper clearly states they are 90% Bamboo and 10% Polyester, thus I returned them. NO where on Bumpkins website (at the time of this writing) does it say that the diapers are a blend of Bamboo. I was looking for 100% bamboo and do not want polyester in my home.

Neutral rating because we did not actually use the diapes so I cannot comment on the functionality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Never got the chance to try, January 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bumkins Fitted Diaper Bundle - Size 1 (Baby Product)
I tried to purchase this item three times in size one but even though the box said size one, the diapers inside seemed large and said size two. I purchased several times before Amazon said they couldn't help and were trying to work the problem out.
