5.0 out of 5 stars Soft and absorbent
I purchased 3 packages of these bibs. Amazon had the best price of anywhere I checked. They washed and dried nicely with no visible shrinkage except for just a very minimal amount in the cotton binding that runs around the outside perimeter of one of the bibs. The binding on the other two bibs has more of a satiny finish to it.

They could be just a little bit...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but not great
These bibs are absorbent but after half a dozen washes the bibs are already falling apart. There are loose threads all over. The velcro is VERY strong so I suspect the fabric is getting shredding in the velcro teeth. I've found the velcro can also scratch the back of the baby's neck if you don't cover it completely. They're ok bibs but not great...

They could be just a little bit thicker, but they're nice and soft and not too big, but seem to be big enough to handle most meals and lots of drolling for an infant say up to one year (I'm guessing). They would be too small for, say, a two-year old toddler. They have a velcro closure and could be reversed if you want to cut the tag off the other side.

My pet peeve with many of the bibs on the market is that they have cute embroidered sayings and/or characters on the front of them which while cutesy, take up most of the surface of the bib and don't provide any absorbency - which seems to me to be the whole purpose of using a bib in the first place.

So for everyday use, these work great.

Update on 3/25/08: The bibs are holding their own as far as functionality even with an 11 month old baby; however, the binding around the edge has come off one of the bibs at the neck area and created a hole. I was able to mend it with the sewing machine, and the bib is still functional but looks tacky.

My son has been using these since he was a newborn. He's now two years old and, unfortunately, still need to wear a bib to keep his shirts dry. These are the most absorbent bibs I have seen in the market and he can soak these through three of these in day. After a year of use, the first batch I bought were stained and I wanted to buy new ones to replace them. But the new ones I bought after August 2010 are nothing like the old ones. They are less absorbent, the velcro stick to my other clothing and itself during laundry (despite I religiously close the velcro before putting them into the laundry) and they fall off my son's neck. Totally useless piece of junk if you ask me. All I can do now is to go back using the original ones I bought two years ago that are yellow. It's not pretty but at least it does the job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed - Even with careful laundering, they fell apart and look awful., September 29, 2011

I was given a Bumkins terry cotton bib as a hand-me-down and I loved it's look and how absorbant it was. I wanted more so I ordered three 3-packs of the Cotton Organic Bibs. The size of the neck opening was fine for us (our baby is in the 50th percentile for weight, so not too small or big). I liked the absorbancy too. However, I am very disappointed overall. The satin binding started fraying off after a month or two. In addition, these frayed fibers have started to fall off and adhere to the velcro making the bib not stay closed. They not only are not staying on now, they look awful. These bibs have been cared for the same as the hand-me-down bib. The old hand-me-down is still in GREAT condition. As for how I wash them, I close the velcro and wash them in a lingerie bag. So, I have taken care to keep them nice but they have fallen apart. : Today, I have rounded them up and am putting then in my bin of cleaning rags. Very disappointed and makes me leary to buy other Bumkin bibs.

UPDATE
I contacted the company regarding this and they replaced the bibs with another lot: [...] If you zoom in on it, you can clearly see the terry cloth is much thicker and the binding is of better quality too. The new bibs are AMAZING! They are so soft, absorbant, and sturdy. I would recommend getting the new ones on Bumkins website versus the ones shown here. You will love them!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, June 13, 2011
This review is from: Bumkins Organic Cotton Everyday Bib 3-Pack - Natural (Baby Product)
I registered for these for my baby shower and received them. I liked the fact that they were made organically because babies like to chew on anything they can get ahold of, bibs included. Once I received them though, I was disappointed at how thin they were. I had hoped that an organic product, obviously lacking a plastic lining for the back, would have been nice and thick. These, not so much. They are very thin. I know there are better organic bibs on the market and I stupidly thought 3 organic bibs for $11 was a good deal. And it was...too good to be true!

When I first got these they looked and felt great, but after only one washing one of the bibs fell apart and the other two shrunk up and don't look all that great anymore. I would not recommend these bibs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very absorbant bib for super-spitters, February 15, 2008
This review is from: Bumkins Organic Cotton Everyday Bib 3-Pack - Natural (Baby Product)
I purchased these for my two month old who is a super spitter due to reflux issues. I purchased the natural style ones. They are holding up well after many washes. I advise closing the velcro closures or the velcro WILL snag the terry-cloth on the bibs causing them to fray more than just the normal wear and tear. These make great day time bibs, however we use Carter's waterproof dribble bibs for naps and bedtime when we sometimes have unexpected reflux episodes that soak through clothing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bumpkins not so great, December 7, 2011
This review is from: Bumkins Organic Cotton Everyday Bib 3-Pack - Natural (Baby Product)
I bought the Bumpkin bibs with the (blue) silk trim and they were pretty awful. The trim began to fray after one washing, attracting every piece of velcro in my baby's wardrobe (other bibs, including Bumpkins) in the dryer. A pretty disappointing purchase. The cloth itself held up well, but the trim became so frayed I didn't want it near my infant. For a company that touts itself as being "finer baby products" it may want to look at the quality of its fabrics.

2.0 out of 5 stars didn't last, November 1, 2011

I bought these before my daughter was born and found them extremely useful at first. My three month old is a serious spitter upper and needs bibs to keep from wearing 10 outfits a day. These were the perfect size and really absorbent but they did not survive the washing mashine. They fell apart and now I keep them as back up but only at home because they look so beat up. Too bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice bib, strong velcro, October 24, 2011
This review is from: Bumkins Organic Cotton Everyday Bib 3-Pack - Natural (Baby Product)
This has been our favorite bib since introducing our 6-month-old to solid foods. Because they're cotton, these absorb any spilled food so the baby can't smear it around. We also tried some of the waterproof bibs and found that these just led to lots of food smearing and a bigger mess overall. The velcro is very strong and will stay put even if baby pulls on the bib (unlike other brands we tried). The caveat is: you really have to remember to close the velcro (seal it together) before washing and/or drying these because if left loose, the strong velcro will pull threads on the bib and other items in the wash with it. To me, it's worth that extra effort to have a strong velcro hold the bib in place on the baby.
