This is a highly disturbing children's book,

This review is from: The Bump in the Night (Greenwillow Read-Alone) (Library Binding)
Let me summarize, since I had this as a young boy.A rich old man is attacked by thieves who dismember him and stuff his remains into a chimney in his castle. He haunts the castle for many years until young Toby the tinker (a boy who can fix anything and fears nothing,) decides to spend the night in the haunted castle. Toby starts a fire, and throughout the night, pieces of the old man fall out of the fireplace (one leg, the other, the torso, the head...) Far be it from me to ruin the book for you, but suffice it to say: this is a weird book to give your developing child.
