Product Description

The design concept was conceived in response to the increasing vulnerability of the rear bumpers of luxury sedans such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz & Lexus. Over time, rear bumpers have evolved into molded color- integrated covers that fit over a structural element. The dimensional strength is greater than the aesthetic plastic "skin" that covers it, hence the need for a solution that protects, yet does not detract from the overall appearance of the vehicle when the protective bumper guard is attached. The TECH-Naissance BumperGuardTM uses our U.S. Utility Patent Applied technology to create the ultimate solution. Using the "universal" hole pattern of domestic license plates, the TECH-Naissance BumperGuardTM slides onto two posts that protrude from the lower holes of the plate in seconds. An integral handle helps you to guide the unit into place. The durable ABS molded housing then uses a double cam-lock key mechanism to "lock" the unit onto the posts, to prevent pilferage. The molded housing cantilevers over the rear bumper of the car, positioning the 2" impact-resistant foam pad directly over the area most vulnerable to parking impact. Weighing in at just over 1lb. the product is effortlessly positioned, and stored in your trunk. It's sleek, sophisticated form of the design enhances the visual appearance of the unit, making it a welcome companion for all vehicle environments! When I took it out of the box the foam guard was coming out of the plastic holder frame. I glued it in w/gorilla glue. The frames are made of thin, cheap plastic, for the price they charge they could have used higher quality plastic. One of the holding knobs on the license plate bracket broke after the first use. Will look for a different replacement soon. I don't feel they're worth the money they charge.

The concept seems good, but the product itself is of poor quality. The lock needed lubrication within weeks of purchase. The lock also tends to retain water and freeze at winter temps. The plastic license plate connection broke - not from being hit by a car, but from being brushed by passing pedestrians. Finally I noticed that the guard itself was making small scratches in the paint on my bumper.
My advice: look for another product!

After approximately five months of (rare) use, the bumper pad separated from the plastic wedges which hold the pad in place. I managed to re-attach the pad, but it never really hung well after this. Then the plastic clamps (the clamps are attached to plastic hooks on a license plate that is provided with the bumper pad) broke. The workmanship appears to be quite shoddy and the materials are visibly cheap--extremely breakable plastic parts that can easily warp over time, some metal pieces that look as though they were cast in a home-made forge, etc. The actual value of this item is far less than the $80 they charge. In addition, be forewarned: the company does not appear to stand by their product or guarantee it in any way.
