5.0 out of 5 stars Got Lucky, September 13, 2010

This review is from: Bunk Bed Twin over Full Mission style in Honey with Drawers
I feel very lucky to have gotten this bed over the internet and at this price. I had shopped around for months prior to making my selection online. There were no beds in stores or online as far as I could tell that were a better deal. I was braced to be a bit disappointed b/c it seemed too good to be true especially with shipping at not added cost. But I've had it since April and so far so good. The bed appears to be very well made and is very heavy. The space between the bottom and top beds is just wonderful. The color is true to the picture and just lovely. We have multi-colored walls (yellow and two shades of blue) along with diego border and wall decorations. The kids' room now looks every bit what I'd hoped for.

The drawers do not go all the way back so there is a large gap at the back that toys and dirt can collect. You do have to move the ladder to get to one drawer. After reading reviews that said assembly was challenging, I hired my handyman to assemble and he didn't say it was a problem. So, so far so good! I am looking to move next year and worry about disassembly and the wear-and-tear that will create on the bed. Hopefully, it will re-assemble and remain strong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and solid, but bring your own tools!, August 7, 2010

This is a great solid bed. It looks good, and the top bunk is a little lower than some other bunk beds, so it is easier for me to change the sheets. It was straightforward to assemble, but don't plan on doing it with the included tiny wrench. I think that would have taken me days. I used a cordless drill with hex and screwdriver bits, and had it done in about two hours. I'm not very fast, so a real handy person could probably do it in less.
The drawers are nice and big, but you have to move the ladder to open the right drawer.
The wood smell was very strong at first, so we left the window open, and the smell dissipated in a week.
My sons love it!

I assembled the twin bed today and put a mattress and frame on it. My two years old daughter was excited and jumped on the mattress. Then I thought the bed with frame is too high and want to remove the frame under mattress. Oops, One of beams( There 13 of them ) was found broken already when I lift mattress/frame. So I will probably go to Homedepot to find a replacement. Generally, all the wood look poor quality, not just beams. I don't what type of wood they are.
