Love it!,

This review is from: The Bunnies Are Not In Their Beds (Hardcover)
My children love the repetition in this book. My 3 year old is able to engage by making predictions and "reading along" with the pattern of the text. I really enjoy reading it simply because of how much my kids enjoy it. I especially love how it continuously builds up to the climax. Lots of fun and easy to relate to!

My daughter's favorite book,

This book is cute, sweet, well-illustrated, and just the right length. Each time I read, "What is that noise?"....my daughter responds, "sounds like the bunnies are not in their beds!" It contains just enough plot and visual stimuli for a preschooler. It is definitely one of our favorites!

preschool pleaser,
This review is from: The Bunnies Are Not In Their Beds (Hardcover)
Despite the negative comment by Ms Callegari 0f School Library Journal about being overlong, the book is absolutely on target for preschoolers. Our little guy, who received a copy for his 4th birthday, had the cheerful text memorized after only a few readings and it's his current bedtime fave. While not a perfect model of little ones settling into bed to immediately drift off to dreams, it hysterically presents bedtime reality.

This book does a fantastic job of acknowledging an often difficult discipline for children, i.e. going to bed, in a clever way. The illustrations are very well done in bright colors with lots of details done in a simple style. I highly recommend this book.

Better than a hot toddy?,

Three bunnies do NOT want to go to sleep--they'd rather play trains, trombones, and tricks, but eventually they wear themselves out and follow their parents' lead into dreamland. The beginning endplate is in vibrant color, a view of their home, and the final endplate is black and white, reminiscent of Goodnight Moon's alternating black and white/color, and the bunnies may indeed be great grand children of that one bunny in the great green room those many years ago.

My three-year-old daughter and I read this book for the first time in the children's section of the library. Early on, she started laughing. Before the book had finished, she was laughing so hard that I had to tell her to try to be more quiet. She loved it!

Great before bedtime,
This review is from: The Bunnies Are Not In Their Beds (Hardcover)
Bright colourful pictures, cute story line about 3 rambunctious bunnies and their parents who are always telling them 'good night, good night, sleep tight!'.
The text is great for a preschoolers - not too text heavy, but substantial enough to be a great learning tool, vocab. development...alot of 'sound' words, which toddlers enjoy.

Our one year old daughter loves this book! We read it every night before she goes to bed. She gets so excited when we turn the page to find the bunnies are still not in their beds!

Wonderful bedtime book,
This review is from: The Bunnies Are Not In Their Beds (Hardcover)
My toddler loves this book -- we've checked it out from the library 3 times now, & I'll have to buy it soon. Listening to him repeat the sounds the bunnies make, or identify what mischief they're up to each time, is too precious for words. And I have no clue where the "too long" shot came from in the editorial review above. It's just the right length to help wind down into sleepytime.
The illustrations are precious, it must be added. I think this book will become a bedtime "classic."

Night has arrived and little bunnies are tucked in bed - but they just can't keep still, and want to play their trains and toys all night. How can a tired mother and father keep their very active little bunnies from playing with their toys all night? THE BUNNIES ARE NOT IN THEIR BEDS is a fun, gentle read-aloud perfect for the very young.
