From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 2?A celebration of a child's imagination. Tusa seamlessly weaves the artwork of pediatric patients at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, with her own illustrations to tell the quiet story of a young girl who explores her world through her paints and crayons. The children's illustrations appear throughout, representing the creative output of the youngster featured in the story. Some of the pictures?pink bunnies, houses on stilts?are charming preschooler efforts, while others, like the watercolor of a deer, are astounding in their maturity and beauty. Tusa's narrative is guileless, complementing the innocence and earnest efforts of the young artists. The text is childlike without being forced or artificial. An outstanding picture book.?Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, NY
