If you are planning on buying this book, consider what you're expecting to get. If you're expecting to get a cute, tiny hardcover gift book (like the ones people buy in the cafe at bookstores), you will be ever so thrilled. I didn't look at the dimensions and thought I was getting a photo book like "Cats in the Sun".

The "lively text from Sophie Bevan" which "takes you into the bunny's world of mischief and fun" is historical info such as:

A potent symbol of fertility from ancient Egypt to modern America, it seems unfair that the rabbit should be so despised by gardeners and farmers. Yet, whether it's the Romans or Elmer Fudd, it seems someone always has a bad word to say about the "wotten wabbit".

along with quotes and a couple of pages of household rabbit info near the end. I found the text completely forgettable. I liked the pictures (there are about 30), but there were only two or three I really paused and smiled at, like a brown lop-eared bunny curled up with a calico guinea pig. I zoomed through this book without much to give me pause.

I could return "Bunnies at Play" and barely think of it again (though I won't because it isn't worth the shipping cost). It's "OK" all over. I can't see myself pulling it off the shelf for a good look-through like I do with my other photo books. I haven't seen it, but it sounds like "Funny Bunnies" is the far better bunny photo book.
