It's interesting to me that this book is touted as a children's book. I'm pretty certain that the largest audience will be people interested in computer graphics and animation as this book includes a DVD of the Oscar-winning short film "Bunny". The book includes a summary of the story in the form of a children's book, with scenes from the film and short text descriptions. But, that's not why you will buy this. The film is brilliant. It is summarized elsewhere, so I won't detail the plot. What has to be seen to be believed is the quality of the computer animation, the use of a power technique called radiosity, beams of light in the mist, and lots of other impressive techniques. And, this is used to tell a story that is very heartwarming and tender.

Don't expect any "making of" information on the DVD or in the book. It's just not there. There is another book describing the Blue Sky approach to animation that includes information about Bunny, Ice Age, and other Blue Sky projects. That book is will worth the money, too.

A great book and DVD. I used this during a graduate course on Death, Grief and Re-growth. My students were glad to have seen it. Originally included as an extra on Ice Age, it is so nice to see it available for purchase. A beautiful story!
