I noticed this book on our library's "new for children" shelf and brought it home for my little ones. My almost-three-year old daughter enjoys it thoroughly, but my 14-month old boy just can't get enough. He wants to read this book before every nap, and he wiggles with delight when I open it. I don't blame him. The simple story is this: a young rabbit and his friend, a mouse, are stuck indoors on a rainy day. Instead of moping, they make fun for themselves in all kind of creative (albeit messy) ways until the rain passes. The illustrations are full of splashy color and motion; the rhyming text is short, sweet and fun. (Excerpt: "Clip-clop, clip-clop. Bunny fun in Mama's shoes. Snip-snip, clippity-clip. Bunny fun with Papa's news!") My only caution to parents is that some of bunny's activities are rather mischievous--particularly the painting of a vanity mirror with "drippy red" items from Mom's make-up kit. My little guy is a probably too small to be inspired by this, but I suppose it might prompt some kids to try lipstick art for themselves. So lock up your cosmetics... and enjoy some Bunny Fun!
